Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Clark Gregg (Coulson), Lee Pace (Ronan), and Djimon Honsou (Korath) confirmed for Captain Marvel.
I didn't like Ronan at all and barely remember him above Malekith outside of putting on his armor and smashing a guy's head with a hammer, so maybe this will be the chance to make him more interesting in my eyes.
So it's confirmed
that It's Chris Evans' last film as Captain America it seems.
I imagine he dies heroically at Thanos' hands. Then maybe later the Soul Gem is used to have Captain America finally having that dance with Agent Carter.
Probably used by Tony.

That seems...random.
Personally, I'd prefer that the Nazi didn't get the last laugh, let alone when he has no real reason to be there.
Oh God! Natural light!Well, that's sadly not going to happen without recasting as Hugo Weaving basically said it was the worst acting experience of his life.
I'm not sure why but he's said no to any return.
As for my above, the Cosmic Cube acted like the Bifrost with the rainbow teleportation effect. Presumably, he was teleported to Asgard—which would promptly imprison him and explain where he's been 70 years. Except, well, Asgard got blown up.

x4 Well, sure, I'd be alright if he came back, but I'd honestly hate it if he just showed up to randomly killed Steve.

Oh God! Natural light!Heimdall
Also, they'd only have to talk to the Red Skull five minutes before he'd gleefully tell them everything he'd done because he honestly believed STEVE would feel the thing to do to the week is mass murder them all.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. They do have a way to bring Red Skull back but they certainly don't have to. Getting warped to a random part of space may not necessarily be fatal but it still could permanently keep him out of the picture. And having him show up after Thanos is defeated in Infinity War just to pop up and basically go "You thought Thanos would kill Cap but it was me, Red Skull!" would probably be the worst way to make him relevant again.
No it is not confirmed. This article also refers to the very same new York times interview in which he "confirms" yet again that he fulfills his contract with avengers 4 and that there are no further plans yet. For one that doesn't mean that there won't be any tomorrow and two even if there were any plans there is no way he would reveal it now. The fans would hate it if they knew for sure that he survives avengers 4.

More new footage, this time of Teen Groot.
