Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

@Hammer and Anvil
You missed the best part, where they break out of prison and find an injured alien. Hammer shoots him but turns out that this alien can heal himself with lead and he thanks them for saving his life. He decides to replace the chain connecting them with an unbreakable metal tether that gives them super-strength as thanks, misunderstanding the meaning of the chain connecting them as a sign of a deep friendship between the two men.
Their starting story involves Hammer's father, who loves him but believes he belongs in prison (and that's the only part necessary for an updated version). Their relationship evolves over time from, as I said, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork to Vitriolic Best Buds to Ambiguously Bi. They're also potential comedic gold, as their origin story demonstrates and their interactions show.
Let me be clear: I was not saying they should get their own show. I do, however, think they could work really well as recurring antagonists in an already established show.

" think that Tony is his most interesting in Civil War. "
He is but I find marvel is overealing on him being a mess to the point is getting a little bit annoying, between AOY and CW, is not hard to said that Tony stark is not marvel more recurrent antagonist a this point.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
I like it in Iron man 3, see him coming on the top by only is smarts and not ove realing in his suit was really sweet for me, it was a bold move we dont see so often in Marvel.
Compare to that every other movie is one way of another to said "Im tellnig guys, THIS is going to work, I promise...oh not, it didnt work"
I kind expect him to build the death star on of this days.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I don't really think Stark has a complete character arc in Iron Man 1. He goes from a genius billionaire who pays attention to his playboy lifestyle rather than the wider world, to a genius billionaire taking an interest in making the world a better place, but he's still short-sighted and reckless. Iron Man 2 is essentially him maturing — he starts to realize that short-term actions have long-term consequences, and he can't just wing it and expect everything to work out well for everyone every time. Iron Man 3 is him suffering from the consequences of his heroism — him coming to grips with the fact that him doing the right thing has real, personal costs — and deciding to follow through with it anyway.
Or, tldr, Iron Man 1 is "man, I've been a jerk, I should be a hero instead", Iron Man 2 is "okay, being a hero is more complicated than I thought, I need to start thinking things through instead of constantly going off half-cocked", and Iron Man 3 "holy crap, being a hero can suck sometimes... but I'm not doing this for me, so I'll accept the consequences of being a hero for the sake of the people relying on me".
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Wasn't sure if anyone here talked about it, but Infinity War has tripled the presales of the next closest superhero film, aka Black Panther
. at AMC theatres

IMO, my perfect Fantastic Four movie has them having been active for a long time, but have been lost for decades during some kind of adventure - either they went into space and never came back, or they went into the Negative Zone and weren't able to return, etc. The story would be a classic Fantastic Four cosmic exploration or adventure film as they find their way back home.
Meanwhile, Dr. Doom has been dormant since their disappearance, holed up in Latveria and up to unknown machinations while waiting for the Four to resurface. This gives him the opportunity to be mentioned or influence other heroes' stories while the Four make their way back for the grand, final confrontation with him (perhaps in an eventual big crossover movie).
