Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Right now wanda itself is very iffy consider we havent seen that much of them bonding and the whole civil war thing kinda muddle things on.
I mean, maybe is just me but throwing the person you are into a big damn hole is kinda a deal breaker.
isnt?
I dont know men, the moment he feel some vaguely asian is near by he will drop everthing because that is how he is.
Also, I will love to see how he will react to alien body sounds, that should be...intersting.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"If I'm going to be blunt, Black Widow is constantly getting into romances in other media with members of the Avengers. Tony and Steve seem to be the most popular ones, though Clint was a hot candidate in Avengers 1. To me, it was never a question of if Natasha would hook up with one of the Avengers, but when, since it's happened every other time so far.
I liked the idea of Natasha and Bruce getting together from the word "go" simply because it was a fresh new idea for a relationship and I was curious to see how it would pan out. It also explored facets of their personalities that I've never seen either explore in a romantic context. A mutually angsty romance was an interesting direction to take them in, one which I liked.

I'm mixed. As someone else already said, I trust the Russos since they've pretty consistently shown they've had a good handle on Black Widow. I maintain her role in Winter Soldier was her best usage in the franchise by far.
But, the royally botched handling of the Steve/Sharon romance does not really make me confident of their ability to handle Widow and Banner as a couple, especially in a movie this crowded.
Yeah, of all the avengers, they are the one who enjoy their power the less: Tony love being Iron man, Cap see as sort of duty and a mean to protect people, for Thor is just natural as being asgardian and being worhty, Hulk and Nat? they are wary about it.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Well this thread moves at the speed of light, so you're just saying that it's all Tony's fault right? Well, glad we agree.
So what are we talking about right now?
One Strip! One Strip!I'm sure you can find an angle to make the relationship sound interesting or filled with potential if you try hard enough, but in practice, it was just downright bad. There wasn't anything all that terribly interesting that actually got explored because the relationship felt incredibly forced, the "conflict" in it was melodramatic in a bad way, it had pretty much no build-up, the two characters' chemistry is non-existent and it overall detracts from both of them. Age of Ultron would literally be a better movie if that whole subplot was excised. Bruce already had enough to work with given the Ultron thing, and they could have easily had Natasha play off Clint like the first film did.
Maybe it could have been good if it had been built up to properly and Joss Whedon hadn't been the one to introduce the concept, but what's done is done. I don't really think there's anything the Russos can do to make me like it any better.

Avengers tales place in 2009 right? (same year as most of Phase 1, a year after Iron Man) And Ao U takes places in 2015? I could buy Nat not being scared of the Hulk after six years.
And we see that Natasha and Bruce have grown closer over the course of the years in the very first scene of Age of Ultron. A bad first impression does not color your perception of that person for the rest of your interactions with them, and I doubt Natasha traumatizes easily. She's not so fragile to let a little attempted murder shake her up for years, otherwise she wouldn't be able to make it as an assassin.
It makes sense that its going to get brought back up again. Its going to be the first time they see each other after a complicated parting.
It doesn't mean they'll get together again. They are 'star crossed.' That doesn't usually mean happily ever after.
And/or is a special Justice League episode.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWhat I want more than anything is closure.
Banner and Natasha finding a quiet moment to have a conversation where they admit that yeah they wouldn't have lasted together. Because they want different things re: pushing Banner in holes.

@unknowing: Well the case I linked in the Defenders featured Matt winning a case by himself and without going off to fight magic ninjas. I have faith in him.
