Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In fairness Tony seems to find fresh new ones every time he turns around
But we still like him better than Danny Rand in aggregate
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYes.
It's fun to make fun of Tony.
The only thing fun about Danny is hoping he gets his ass kicked by everything.
One Strip! One Strip!Tony didn't expect the fight to escalate that badly, which is why he was comfortable with bringing Peter as a non-lethal option to tie everyone up.
I just realized...while Scott represents the generation which grew up with Cap's comic book, Peter represents the generation growing up with actual Superheroes being around. He must have seen Ironman fly over the city multiple times.
Peter invented his web shooters, and then Tony gave him better ones. Same deal with the rest of Peter's equipment: he technically invented them first, but the things he uses are not his inventions.

I believed then and continue to believe now that Ant-Man and Hawkeye especially were just shoehorned into the film for the sake of a fight scene. And yeah, it does go against his arc in his own movie. But hopefully Reed can make something interesting out of it.
Like 80% of the movie being everyone telling Scott how stupid and reckless he was to jump the gun like that and screw up everyone else's lives because "Cap said so, and he's cool."
Hey Scott, the villain there only succeeded because Cap did it "his way" and Tony went along with it, just thought that you should know that.
New EW Infinity War covers[1]
. Minor Black Panther spoiler regarding the covers: Looks like Bucky will be going by White Wolf
To clarify, my post a page back was mostly joking, because I found the quote appropriate to how Tony is constantly trying to do the right thing and make amends for previous bad decisions, but his amends generally turn out to be new bad decisions.
Which in fairness is probably something true of not only other MCU superhero characters, but also people generally. But it's definitely a distinct character trait of his.
Ooh, that's interesting. Someone needs a Composite Character entry, if one hasn't been added already. I had figured that that line was just a brief Genius Bonus. Although I doubt it, wonder if at some point Bucky will wear something like the White Wolf costume. I doubt it, because it's kind of on the nose in the comics that a white guy version of Black Panther wears what's essentially a white Black Panther costume, but it would make a lot of sense that Bucky would wear a mask and rely on Wakandan diplomatic immunity to travel around the world, since he's not a very popular person.
Edit- And unsurprisingly, it's already there. Thank you Wiki Magic.

[insert joke about Superman's 'mustache']

"I have learned all kinds of things from my many mistakes. The one thing I never learn is to stop making them."
