Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I never really felt like Nat needed to be shipped. She a Clint are consummate professionnals, unlike everyone else on the Avengers, so if there are two characters that should be free of all relationship drama, that's them.
That doesn't mean she deserves to end up alone, but that's the thing, she deserves to end with someone - ie settle once she has retired. On active duty, being entangled in romance drama is not like one of the greatest secret agents on the planet.
In my perfect world, she'd be part of my OT 4 (Steve, Bucky, Sam, Natasha). One can dream, right?
Barring that though, I personally don't really want her to get a romance until her own movie, if it's not with any of her teammates (except Bruce. That ship has sailed far and hard). Even then, I'm reluctant to have it happen at all, since the MCU has always been pretty hit or miss when it comes to romance.
"Yo, those kids are straight up liars, man. All I told them to do was run product. And by product, I mean chewing gum."I felt the drones and Ultron program were an in character follow up to Tony destroying his suits and promising to spend more time with Pepper
He's trying to delegate more of the responsibility onto robots and such and his end goal is to set things up so Earth's safety is forever and automated so he can go home
It didn't work because Tony is Tony and Ultron went horribly wrong and him and Pepper are in a rough patch during Civil War but by Homecoming when Tony really has been taking it much easier what with not really having much of a team and Steve's Secret Avengers going out and hitting hot spots him and Pepper really do seem to be getting along a lot better
So it was a journey but I don't think the threads were entirely dropped

I might be remembering wrong, but IIRC Tony only started worrying about delegating things to the robots and stuff after he was mind-fucked by Scarlet Witch. But there's no explanation for the beginning of the movie where he's back to being Iron Man.
Sure, but she should have some fun outside of her circle of colleagues, like Clint. Considering the stakes of her job, putting it in jeopardy by introducing drama in a team that is already largely dysfunctional does not sound like a smart move. Vision and Scarlet Witch is hardly what I would call a resounding romantic success.
I have nothing against Cap, Tony or T'Challa who are at least dating outside of the superhero community.
That is incorrect
The drone program existed even before that and Tony wanted to take it further but didn't have the technology
He is back in the suit at the beginning of the movie but Pepper's primary objection wasn't him Iron Manning in general it was him coping with PTSD by constantly building suits and refusing to engage with her
He starts opening up (to Bruce) at the end and the drones are more automated to build and maintain so it's steps in the right direction
It's weird that people complain about Tony seeming to get over his ptsd by the end of Iron Man 3 and also complain that his recovery has bumps and backslides
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBlack Panther is the 4th film to ever hit $100M+ its 2nd weekend domestically with $108M, $400M total and is currently sitting at $700 million at the box office after only 10 days and it’s not out in Japan or China yet.[1]
It took the Avengers 14 days to reach $400 million domestically.

I mean, it's pretty obviously something not actually intended to be in the movie.
Oh God! Natural light!Like that one X-Men blooper where the guy in the Spider-Man sneaks up behind them during a scene and then goes "Oh man, I'm so sorry! Wrong movie! My bad!"
My various fanfics.I have a complaint about Iron Man's depiction here that has always bothered me: the Unibeam has never been used in a meaningful way. In the cartoons and comics, it's sometimes his ultimate attack, but I think it's only been used twice in the MCU, one of those times was to break something while he was partying in the suit in Iron Man 2.
On the other hand one of those times was to break Bucky's other hand

Going by the comic continuity, I’m shipping Natasha with Matt.
It could happen. Scarlet Johansen may make guest appearances on Daredevil. I seriously prefer her over Karen and Elektra!
