Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I need Letitia and Tom Holland to be onscreen together in Infinity War, just for a second. My bi-heart screams for it.

My various fanfics.Bi-five. Tom Holland is adorable, though too young for me to crush on. Tbh I have a stronger need to see Shuri and Peter nerding out together.
If Chris Evans and Lupita are on the same screen, I may just die from too much bi. Chadwick and Lupita already nearly killed me.

Yeah, my feelings for Holland are complicated. On the one hand, he's adorable, but on the other hand...
He's both my son and my husband.

My various fanfics.Letitia Wright is a beautiful woman I will say.
What are the odds of BP saying "Then you have already lost. For I have trained my entire life to face the unknown." in Infinity?
That is like one of the MOST badass lines I have ever read in my entire life.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Wow, I cannot watch that video without seeing MJ and Peter Parker.
And in the span of that one entirely unrelated to the MCU video, they just became the best couple in the MCU.

The line is gonna be difficult cause he's saying it to someone who has trained all their life to beat him so the purpose of the line is to explain that no matter much you trained to fight him he's trained to fight everything & anything that will come at him & win.
And I can't imagine any of Thanos' forces "trained their entire life" to face him.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The easiest way is to just change the preceding line of the person he says it to, then. For example.
Thanos: Foolish child. You dare to oppose me? I am unlike anything you have ever faced.
My various fanfics.@Tuckerscreator: Meanwhile, I'm like:
My view of M'baku pre-2018: "If you look past the stereotype there's actually a pretty interesting character here, that's why he's my favorite black panther villain."
My view of M'baku in 2018: "WITNESS THE MIGHT OF THE JABARI FIRSTHAND!".
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Black Panther becomes highest grossing mcu film in first week[1]
And now they will claim that it is just because of the MCU. We know this game, don't we? Female lead movies have been among the highest grossing pretty much since the beginning of theatres, and the industry is just now catching on that giving them a bigger role in general might be a good idea after all.
I think Panther will probably actually change things because it seems to be a success even by MCU terms. The only possible negative lesson you could conceivably spin from this is "black-starring films are only viable financially if you set them Africa" Which I don't think anyone is stupid enough to arrive to.
So naturally, the executives will arrive to it
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Hey, if that gets us more movies about African culture (as opposed to African-American culture), then it's not necessarily a bad thing. If it gets us more Darkest Africa crap, then yes, that's very much a bad thing. But I think we're past that, for the most part.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.I don't know anymore.

This song needs more love.So something I was thinking, I saw a tweet suggesting that Coogler do an adaptation of The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps, which would be kind of coo, and it struck me that you could have Michael B. Jordan/ Chadwick Boseman and Winston Duke as the main characters, thereby satisfying people's desire for Slash Fic with the characters/actors.

Yeah, if Black Panther hits that vaunted billion dollar mark, it's going to be really hard to claim it was just because it's an MCU film. Only the Avengers films, Civil War, and Iron Man 3 have ever done so well.
And the fact that the film's already had the biggest opening in MCU history outside the original Avengers film is a good start.

Winston Duke is fucking gorgeous. Luke Cage needs to go to Wakanda, like, yesterday.
