Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Even disregarding Wanda, Captain Marvel doesn't wear a coat.

This song needs more love.Look under Captain America's armpit at 0:12. It's unmistakably light but long hair. You'd have to be blind not to see it really.
A couple of Black Panther
reviews are now up
with the RT score supposed to be up later today.
I am so freaking hyped.
I gave ANT-MAN a rewatch yesterday. It holds up pretty good. For one it's rare to see a working class hero on the big screen, let alone one who's 40 years old and with a kid. I have a lot more time for the short end of the stick Hope gets in this film knowing that the creators have vowed to do right by her in the sequal. Darren Cross is still a waaaay better villain than the character concept deserves to be. The final fight is just unbelievably fun.
The fight between Scott and Sam is really fun even though it's painfully obvious that neither actor set foot on the same set and the entire sequence was a last minuet addition. Fun though, if pointless.
To be fair, Winter Soldier made Falcon really cool, which is impressive, considering I always saw comic Falcon as "Aquaman, but for birds, and without super strength."
How is talking to birds not a cool superpower?
First, there are birds everywhere and they are gossipy fucks. Second, if you apply similar power creep as Aquaman got, Falcon could command the loyalty of dinosaurs.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersTalking to birds seems like it would be a great power for pranks. Like we get a bunch of pigeons together and have them prank people in the park Hitchcock style, then celebrate with some bread loaves for them.
Anyway, the RT score for Black Panther is up but I expect it to shift quite a bit in the next few hours.

Talking to birds is liking to fish, everyone mocks you for it
poor Aquaman
> First, there are birds everywhere and they are gossipy fucks.
Unless it 's in the Corvid family I wouldn't rely on birds for intel

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverIt was once commented that between the Falcon and Ant-Man, the Avengers could basically have eyes on almost all land surface.
If you just focus on punch times its not really impressive (although being attacked by swarms of ants or birds can't be fun) but as an intelligence gathering utility power, its really quite handy.
A superhero team needs those utility powers.
Real life intelligence doesn't really matter for comics. Falcon makes good use of pigeons as unobtrusive spies

Forever liveblogging the AvengersSomeone says it’s the same as fish, and then you all see someone starting the Birdemic. Then who’s laughing?

Hair color isn't right. Wanda has dark hair. The person in the background has much lighter hair than that.
