Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah he put in a lot of time and effort into that role, it's a shame to see it wasted with crap material.
As for Kamala, I feel like being an Inhuman is VERY low on the list of things that make her a popular character. So they could just treat it as the source of her powers, but then she just does her own thing afterwards.
I'd lump this into the Disney/Fox ramifications thread, but it also goes into detail about the current goings-on with Venom.
Points of interest:
- Fox claims the delay of New Mutants to 2019 was due to "international release conflicts with Deadpool 2," but it seems to be more because test audiences thought New Mutants was fine, not great. It's possible that the Disney/Fox deal will be finalized by the new release date and the movie will be Disney's to choose whether to delay it further or just dump it as a Hulu exclusive or on the upcoming Disney streaming service.
- Venom was a movie that Sony had wanted to do ever since they were brainstorming their oh-so-precious Amazing Spider-Man Universe. Venom was previously stressed to not be connected to the MCU, but after there was word about Tom Holland appearing as Peter Parker, some people have taken it as evidence that Venom is set in the MCU and the Symbiote will be set up in Infinity War, even though its producers are Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, 2 people who Kevin Feige (apparently, not sure how legit that is) went on record to say that he didn't want to work with.
Nick Fury and Maria Hill spotted filming Avengers 4
.
Yeah. I called that the stuff about him not being in involved in this one was bullshit.
Forest Whitaker talks about Black Panther[1]
. He mentions seeing things that takes us to space.
I wouldn't worry about the rumors surrounding Venom just yet. It is by far not the first time that Schnepp jumps on some sort of rumor.
Inhumans: That was to be expected, and I don't think that anyone cares. Doesn't mean that they will just remove the ones in Agents of Shield though, because they are very popular.
In case someone cares, I have posted my article about Yellowjacket:

Btw, I'll most likely skip Hela (I feel that I need to watch the movie a few times and really let it sink in before writing about her) and cover Hydra next. I would have done the Netflix villains first, but with Jessica Jones right around the corner, I would prefer to delay talking about Killgrave.

I think the Nuhumans are likable enough. It's the Inhuman Royal Family that are toxic.
