Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The level of technology is different but it's weird to say that Batman and Green Arrow have technology where Black Widow and Hawkeye do not since for a time they were being outfitted by SHIELD and then by Tony Stank
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBatman and Widow I can get, but Green Arrow and Hawkeye have the exact same level of tech.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Swan: in his defense he let spear there and he didnt know were the spear have Been, asíde of stupid escene of lois drowing you can get idea.
Bocaj: in the cómic get weirder since Batman have tech that should make him a scary versión of ironman and yet he stick to weird gadjets for some reasons.

Well, when Batman was replaced by Azbats during Knightfall Azbats went the full on Iron Man route and when he and Batman had their big confrontation Batman specifically called him out on overrelying on his armament.
Has there ever been an example of replacing a character with a dark and gritty version before a triumphant return of the original that made sense in its argument about why the original was best?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, by armaments I don't mean guns or anything since Azbats doesn't use them. Instead his top half is basically a giant bat-themed Iron Man suit including a shuriken launcher and a firesword.
Well, Knightfall made sense, I think. Like, not onehundred percent perfect execution but it was clear that Bruce was better suited, mainly because he wasn't completely insane - or at least, not insane to the point of having hallucinations while on mission like Azbats.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"That does raise the question of why Bruce made him the successor instead of Dick.
Does that get addressed, I ask, wildly off topic
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm a bit unsure about a Black Widow film. I like her character and definitely would like to see more of her, but I feel like making her the center focus would be to her detriment. More than half the fun with her is how you never know just what angle she's playing or how many layers of deception she's on, and that's only really possible when she can be off-screen for periods of time and be reacted to by the focus character when she returns.
Like that scene in Winter Soldier where Cap leaves the Zola drive in a vending machine, then when he comes back it's missing and suddenly Black Widow outta nowhere, loudly chewing bubblegum. You can't do shit like that if she's the lead. Or the movie's Cold Open on the boat, where she sneaks off mid-mission to do a second mission that neither Cap nor the audience knew about. Or her replacing one of the World Council members. Man, Winter Soldier did lovely things with her character.
But then again, I had similar reservations about Punisher getting a Netflix series as the focus character instead of a dangerous force for other heroes to encounter, and that turned out to be an unfounded fear.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The thing is, you can do that even with her as the lead. Plenty of other films have done it, and the spy genre lends itself even more to that idea than most anyway.
Also you get the whole "female James Bond" thing as someone mentioned earlier (complete with Natasha flirting her way through people). I'd like to see Yelena Belova as the villain myself.

In essence, you need to watch Atomic Blonde, which is exactly what you described (an asskicking nebulously morally defined female hero).

This is pretty much why I would provide her with some back-up, so that we have character who can act surprise whenever she does something unexpected. It's not strictly necessary, though, there is no prerequisite whatsoever that the audience has to know what the hero is up to. Some of the best movies of all time (The Sting, Shawshank's redemption) have been build around the audience knowing less than the protagonist.

Exactly. Plus, even outside of the Superhero genre, there aren't enough female spies out there. Female spies are usually portrayed as the femme fatale for the hero, not as the heroine.

One if the few thing I feel BVS did right was when doomsday show up, Batman just hide and run against him without the movie forcé him to do something awsome, I feel they need to do that aproach with Black widow and hawkeye rarher that put them in open field trying to catch up to the rest of the team.
