Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh.
...Still, don't Rhodey and Vision count for anything?
And he did seem to have made up with Pepper.
Oh God! Natural light!Oh that reminded me, was glad to see Human!Vision in the trailer. I remember reading some interview before Civil War where they talked about Vision wearing a human "disguise" on occasion, especially when hanging out with Wanda, and was kind of disappointed that it didn't show up in the movie- I though it was one of those elaborate backstory things that supposedly informed character interactions but was never shown to the audience. So, glad to actually see it. Kind of wish that Vision's human form was James D'arcy though.
Incidentally, whenever I see Vision and Scarlet Witch, I think of the huge age difference between the actors, but then I think they make a cute couple.
There was a huge age gap between them in the comics
Either he was from WWII and her dad was too
Or he's a precocious baby robit
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBecause they are now the primary food source of Captain Steve "Captain "Big "Punished "Venom" Cap" Boss" America" Rogers.
Honor their noble sacrifice
Edit: I mean she's twenty-some years older than him, so. Quite literally robbing the cradle.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyThere were a lot of "Aww, how nice, Wanda and Vision got to act out their Ao 3 Human Vision!AU fanfiction" and "Let Wanda be a robofucker, you cowards!" jokes.
My various fanfics.I still don't know why Ultron and or Phineas Horton built him with a functional penis
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOh. It actually is shown in Civil War deleted scenes? Cool.
Well, at least in the MCU, on some level, Ultron's personality is that of notorious lech Tony Stark, and what with his desire to be more human (in between wanting to wipe out all humans), seems like Ultron/Tony would like the idea of a robot that could have sex and potentially reproduce.

I know there’s that leaked clip, but I’m looking forward to seeing the Collector vs Thanos. I know there probably won’t be an actual fight, but there’s that thing around Ragnarok where the Collector and the Grandmaster are bothers. So, millions of years old. Possibly older than Thanos.
I’m guessing though that the Reality Stone isn’t actually in Knowhere. The place was trashed and unless the Collector was a complete moron, he wouldn’t keep two Infinity Stones in the same place, and he would probably have multiple vaults. Knowhere’s most likely just the public one. Someone who’s been collecting things for millions of years and apparently isn’t at all scared of Thanos or Ronan (because otherwise being fine with buying the Stone would be really weird) is going to have some very secret hiding places.
If they are brothers maybe the stone is on Planet Hulk by now....
Anyway, Avengers....I think Moviebob was spot on in his "Really that good" review that the actual stakes in the Avengers is very meta. The movie is basically asking the audience "you want this to succeed, right?" and the only possible answer is "yes".
And honestly, the money shot of them standing together, it feels earned. I think it will be THE shot of the whole decade.
Also, it is just fun to see them interact with each other, exactly because they are so different personalities.
What he smashes the Hulk to the ground into Loki?
There just isn't enough Grievous Harm with a Body in the MCU, imo.

Eh, it makes sense that Loki is scared of The Hulk, since Hulk beat him to death rather effortlessly.
My various fanfics.

Okay that indentured servant comment is kind of a low blow, dude.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
