Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

A continuation of his growth in Ragnarok where he pulls a Mephisto ploy or a Heroic Sacrifice to solidify his position among the heroes would end his character arc on a strong note.
I'm hoping for Rule of Three on Hulk slamming Loki into the ground, this time by way of Thanos.
This song needs more love.I would also like that. Because the MCU does kinda like to play Hulk as being basically invincible.
My various fanfics.I think they're more sensible with Hulk whenever Thor's involved. In the Avengers they're at worst evenly-matched and in Ragnarok it's very self-evident Thor's stronger; the only reason Hulk lasts being Thor continuously stopping the fight to reason with him and outside interference mucking up with Thor.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Was just thinking it would be funny to have a scene where Banner and probably Tony have a conversation where they catch-up about what's been going on since they last saw each other.
Tony would be like "Rhodey's paralyzed, I found out that Cap's best buddy murdered my father, and Cap and most of the other Avengers are on Americas Most Wanted".
And Bruce would respond that things have been pretty uneventful by him too, "Thor lost an eye his hammer, and his country, Loki's no longer crazy or evil... Beat.. well, less evil, and the "Other Guy" talks in complete sentences now."
I wonder if Banner ends up in Strange's house because Thor told him where to go or somehow sent him there. I suspected the whole reason for the funny but somewhat invasive Doctor Strange cameo in Ragnarok was to establish the Avengers knowing who he is when the Time Stone becomes important in Infinity War.
So, I just had a thought. It's maybe silly, and probably way off-base, but I'm going for it. There have been behind-the-scenes- pictures posted, that we all assumed meant 'flashback', because the Avengers were in the costumes they had in the first movie. But it just occurred to me that with Strange involved, the Time Stone is, too. Which means time travel is legitimately on the table as a feasible plot point. What if there are no flashbacks? What if the situation is so dire the current (2017) Avengers are going back in time to recruit their past selves to help with the fight? Or at least give them something to stop the 2017 invasion from ever happening?
Could the endgame of Infinity War be the current Avengers giving intel and weapons/power items to the past Avengers in hopes they can go after Thanos before he has the chance to gain the power he'll have in IW? And the next movie reveals whether that did any good?
One thing no-one mentioned about Thanos for some reason: he has a Kryptonite. Himself. Thanos knows he's an evil person who doesn't deserve to win, so he always subconsciously sabotages a small part of his own plans to give the heroes a chance to win, and it's often literally the only chance they have to beat him. Jury's out on whether that will be in Infinity War, though.
There's almost a zero percent chance but I'd laugh myself hoarse if Infinity War ended with Thanos becoming a farmer
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI just want to get a live-action version of this scene

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Cube: "That's the second most embarrassing scenario I've been written in. First being the incident with the Twinkies
◊. I needed money, okay?!"
Especially if it's Trish Walker and Spider-Man, and Jess is just sitting in the background drinking an espresso.
My various fanfics.
There's a Reddit thread speculating that's the entire reason they're bringing back the kid from Iron Man 3
.
Someone pointed out on tumblr that the Revengers are the best team. Thor comes back to Earth with a spaceship full of all his friends, meanwhile Tony's only friends in the world are his indentured servant and the 16 year old who worships him like Super Mega Santa Einstein Jesus, and Steve's been living in caves eating rocs for a year.
My various fanfics.
Indentured servant?
...Are you talking about Vision?
And where does Rhodey fit into this?
Oh God! Natural light!

I mean I like Loki but I'm completely up for him getting trashed by Thanos.
