Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah, I’m regressing to full fangirl “DON’T TOUCH MY SON” mode with Peter. He is a precious cinnamon roll and I’m gonna cry like hell if/when Thanos hurts him.
In Rhodey’s last appearance, he was paralyzed. Killing him now would be repetitive. Vision will probably die, but I don’t care and I don’t know if he’d be a big audience tear jerker. Never connected with him in Civil War, and I HATED Age of Ultron.

It would sort of thematically bring things full circle from Avengers 1, Tony pulls a sacrifice play again but doesn't get up this time
Fitting in a way since his space paranoia has driven so much of his behavior since Avengers 1
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOnly thing is if Peter dies it's already been known he's going to come back due to sequels and if it turns out all of them take place before IW 2 and/or he gets resurrected in that film it's probably going to feel like a repeat of Superman's death/resurrection in the DCEU.

But it would also feel cheap as well if they try to make it temporary, it's like if the writers just want to mess with you in every way possible all just for a good "laugh" and "trick".
Keep it to at least a veteran from phase 1 or early phase 2, but a recent one? Fuck no. That's cheap as fuck trying it on someone like him.
Let that happen for later, don't rush it.

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I know it sounds callous but if MCU Peter died I actually wouldn't really care. Smol or not. Or Hawkeye. And to be honest Tony wouldn't really make me that sad either, but he's also been around in the MCU long enough that him being gone would still evoke an emotion in me since he's such a pillar of the franchise.
I don't expect all of the Avengers to die. They'll keep some of them around, most likely the ones who don't have solo franchises (yet).

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectI wonder if the New York and Wakanda invasions are simaltanious? Or if one happens after the other? We see a Hulkbuster armour in Wakanda, and Bruce there was well next to it's arm, though he might be there after the battle. EDIT: just noticed Hulk is at the battle of Wakanda. So I guess the two battles don't happen simaltaniously.
Also, which stone is in New York anyway? Vision and the mind stone I guess. The time stone is in Nepal. We assume that the soul stone is in Wakanda.
Looks like the reality stone is the one Thanos gets first, which was in Knowhere with the Collector, but maybe that's been collected off screen. Thanos has the space stone by the time he gets to earth, so I think we can assume Loki has a bad day.

I mean, I personally doubt they're going to show the moment of his death in the trailers.
Actually, that got me thinking - why is Thanos attacking Wakanda here? Assuming that they don't have the Soul Stone (which I find unlikely that they would possess, but maybe Black Panther will reveal differently), I'm going to guess that Vision will be badly injured by Corvus Glaive (I think that was his spear in the trailers) but manages to escape, the Avengers will take him back to Wakanda to help him, and Thanos will launch an all-out assault in response.
Likewise, Ebony Maw will probably try to take the Time Stone from Strange during the attack on New York, and it seems that Thanos will have already attacked Xandar and taken the Power Stone, with Loki having given him the Space Stone.
That leaves the Reality Stone (Thanos does not appear to have it with him when he fights Tony, and according to those leaked clips, it seems he missed it, even after attacking the Collector's lair) and the Soul Stone (still no idea).

Oh God! Natural light!

The only part of the trailer I didn't like was Thanos choke-slamming Spider-Man, and that's just because I don't want to see Spider-Man get choke-slammed by Thanos.
