Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Honestly, who needs an infinity war trailer when one can instead get freaked out by the first 17 minutes of the Agents of Shield two hour season finale and distract oneself with a new episode of Runaways tomorrow? We will get the trailer early enough. And then we will get even more trailer. And then we will start to complain that we don't want to know that much....
From the article:
That's summed up in a quote by Hemsworth, who was dismayed that VF wasn't able to take a photo of the actors playing Words with Friends together while on set during the interview.
"I thought, 'Could somebody take a photo of this?' We’re all aware that this is going to be the last time we get to hang out like this," said Hemsworth.
And yet the actors who have contributed so much to Marvel’s past successes have little doubt about the studio’s future. "I feel a lot of joy for the next generation,” Johansson said. “It’s a bittersweet feeling, but a positive one."
Sounds like this'll be the end of an era indeed.

Thor isn't a difficult character to write out of the action without killing him, especially now that he's responsible for the remnants of Asgard. IIRC, Hemsworth hasn't shown the same desire to do other things as some of the others, either.
They could do a thing where he retires to rule Asgard-On-Earth (Earthsgard?), but in really big moments they could cast Hemsworth in a small role where someone comes to him for help.
I'm imagining a scene where the original six Avengers are facing off against literally impossible odds to let a bunch of other characters escape to fight another day. The scene is almost entirely in slow-motion and made of glory shots of the six smashing mooks and getting beaten down by the major villains. They are all struck fatal blows at various points in the fight. They fall, one by one, until it's down to Captain America as the last man standing. He squares off, wielding a broken shard of his once mighty shield, and he fights off enemies until he's hit by a giant blast and is engulfed by the flames.
The next scene is the remaining heroes, families, and friends of the 6 crying and screaming in hysteria over their deaths. Peter Parker is curled up in tears getting comforted by one of the other heroes as they cry themselves. Bucky is standing in a corner, shedding tears quietly. Rhodey and Pepper are hugging each other as tears stream down their faces. Eventually, one of them steps up and gives a speech about fighting back and not letting their deaths be in vain.
The last scene of the film is a long funeral scene for all six, as the world collectively mournes with tons of shots of children wearing Avengers merchandise bawling their eyes out.

Going for a solid gut punch they'll have Tony survive but Peter Parker will suffer worse injuries then he did during Civil war or when he fought the Vulture
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI'm seeing a lot of murmurings that Avengers 4 might be the final MCU film ever, but not seeing a lot to back that up. There's a lot of articles on the internet right now saying that Kevin Feige has definitively and unambiguously stated that Avengers 4 is the end of the MCU, but then quoting nothing of the sort.
Feige's said that after Avengers 4, Marvel's plans are going to be very different from what came bfeore it. He's said that Avengers 4 represents a very clear punctuation mark, and that there will be a visible distinction between films that came before it and films that came after it. But nowhere has he said, "Avengers 4 is the last MCU film."
It honestly just sounds to me like he's hedging his bets in case some of the actors don't want to come back, and also thinking about shaking things up tonally now that Perlmutter's no longer driving the franchise.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. What he seems to be saying is that this will probably be the last movie of this current formation of the Avengers.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."![]()
There are definite plans for future Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy movies (we already have Vol. 3 confirmed for 2020, I believe, and of course there was the Sequel Hook with Adam Warlock), so yeah, that stinks of bullshit.

Oh God! Natural light!

It's so they can have one woman and one black guy on each cover, except for the last one, because they ran out of black guys.
