Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Actually, the episode in which we learned exactly what happened in Bahrain was towards the last third of season 2!!!! not three, and that she had a traumatic experience is something we learn from Coulson at the beginning of season 1. I actually never expected that Bahrain would be more than the noodle incident and then it turned out to be a pivotal event for the whole story. It was brilliant.
And yes, Fitzsimmons continue to suffer, but they never how those contrived dramas other pairings have or stupid misunderstandings which could be easily cleared up.
Even them is still very static chararter overall, it said much when Robot may manage to emote more emotion that her, something they lampshade later.
And is still silly, the whole thing with Matt-Jemma and Fitz was pretty much to drive more angst into the couple, really those two have more suffering that love and is becoming a little gratting after a while.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"No, instead they have extremely traumatic events that should completely shatter the ability to have so much as a working relationship with each other let alone a romantic one, and then they're just fine with it and move on to Happily Ever After.
Like that time Fitz straight-up murdered a person in cold blood in front of Simmons and then later put a gun to her head, but she was able to forgive him effortlessly because she knows logically that although he was a person Fitz is entirely capable of being, it wasn't the person Fitz is now. As we all know, emotions are entirely willing to obey logical reason so she'll never wake up in a cold sweat or have traumatic flashbacks about the time that the man sleeping beside her nearly killed her with murder in his eyes.
Fitzsimmons don't have "couple" problems. They go through extreme traumas that pry them apart from each other and then just rubber-band back together like it never happened because f*ck you, Official Couple.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.All we know about their current relationship is that they were able to hold a civil conversation after they got out.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. While having to deal with a larger threat.
Anyway...I am most likely late to the game because this is already a week old and perhaps too political for this discussion, but this is the best use of Daredevil footage ever:

And no, I will not explain further what it is, I don't want to ruin the surprise just in case someone hasn't seen this yet....I think I will dream of this tonight. This would made my day.
The composition of these posters is really good. Based on her tagline I wonder if Queen Ramonda is going to be T'Challa's genetic mother in this continuity. Also I'm digging the way the poster enhances M'Baku's jawline. Really gives him a formidable presence compared to the slimmer and prettier Killmonger despite him likely only being a secondary villain in this film.

...The costumes in this movie, goddamn. I already loved Shuri's gauntlets, but I love them even more now.
A nitpick: I like the idea of Klawe's prosthetic hand, I like the way it's clutched in front of him, but the CG really does not look like part of the same photo shoot and it's pretty clearly not connected to what his far shoulder is doing. I'll live, though.
Hey, it's the Fistigons! And I forgot all about Karolina's powers being sealed off by her MedicAlert bracelet.

Okoye getting her own poster is interesting. It means that she's (possibly) going to be more prominent a character than she seems.
I wonder if they're going to do a bait and switch with Nakia initially getting more focus, before turning bad as she does in the comics, at which point Okoye takes her role instead.

For what it is worth Okoye is confirmed to appear in Infinity War, while Nakia isn't. Though that's not conclusive. She's even on some of the official promo art
◊.
So first, I need to state upfront that I don't know anything about the Black Panther universe except what I've read in this very thread.
On that note, a lot of people are concerned that Nakia is going to fall into the tired old cliche of going bad because she's rejected by the hero. Which I completely agree is stupid. I think it would be more interesting if she went bad in spite of those feelings. If her motive was more along the lines of "I love you, but I love our nation and our people more. And your actions are putting both at such risk that removing you from power is the only thing my conscience (I'm not sure I've actually got the right word there) will allow me to do".
In other words, from Woman Scorned to Dating Catwoman? I completely agree. The original conception of the character left a bad taste in my mouth for that reason as well as a bunch of other inappropriate stuff that's probably less acceptable these days.
Slightly worried about the movie going the route of Doctor Strange- in the sense of having a character that inevitably does a Face–Heel Turn, and despite making some attempt at giving them nuance/sympathetic presentation, completely botching it at the end of the movie by having them engage in dog-kicking evil.

....sure? because the amount of suffering Fitz simmons pass is staging, being Fitz and Jemma is suffering.
