Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Cooler?
No he's like a raging fire. But possibly as mysterious as the dark side of the moon. We just don't know for sure yet.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNo, wait.
Valkyrie's as swift as a coursing river.
Thor has all the force of a great typhoon.
Hulk has all the strength of a raging fire.
Loki is as extra mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

My various fanfics.
(3) Thor without a hammer is just... weird.
So if Feige says it’s (maybe) happening, then what would that movie look like? Once again, the hero none of us deserve came to our rescue. “There’s a precedent for it in the comics, right? With the Lady Liberators,” Thompson responded, giving hope to female comic fans everywhere. But who are the Lady Liberators and how could they come to life on the big screen?
Or we could make everyone happy and do a:
- Captain Marvell film
- Black Widow film
-
An Ironheart film and have Riri Williams take the reins from Sta... okay that's not going to happen. - Jessica Drew film
- Gwenpool film
- Squirrel Girl film
- Squirrel Girl film
- Hawkeye solo with Kate Bishop

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Beta Ray Bill
is an alien who became legendary when he lifted Mjolnir. That's his whole thing; being someone other than Thor who is Worthy. Odin created a hammer for him to have as his own called Stormbringer.
He's also a horse skull faced alien who had an almost relationship with Lady Sif

If at some point there were some Avengers movie with an all-female line-up, I'd like it if it looks something like this:
- Captain Marvel
- Ms. Marvel
- She-Hulk
- Singularity
- Kate!Hawkeye
- Wasp
- Spider-Woman
I'll be willing to let America Chavez in, just to have variety in power levels.
No Riri tho.
DEFINITELY no fucking Riri Williams.

He didn't want the company to spite Ward and Joy, he wanted to reclaim his identity. That is what the whole show is about, tradition vs paving your own way, the expectations put on you vs your own desires. Danny is struggling with that.
Let's take his story apart, shall we?
So he grows up as a spoiled rich kid with loving parents. Than the plane crashes and he looses his parents in a very traumatic way. In fact, he looses everything he knew and is raised by monks who beat him in teach him to supress his emotions. He then wants to become the Iron Fist NOT because he feels that this is his calling or because he is particularly interested in guarding some path for forever, but because he is an outsider in this new society he is in and being the Iron Fist is the most respected role their is. Everyone wants it, so he wants it, too. He is kind of the kid who wants to be a lawyer because of the huge salaries.
So after years of supressing his emotions and training he actually becomes the Iron Fist and spends his days guarding a path, but not really feeling as the right place (think of a young person who started at an university and suddenly realizes that the direction picked was a mistake, but after the parents did everything to give said person the opportunity, doesn't really feel like it is possible to give up either). And then the path opens and Danny has for the first time the opportunity to go back to what was. And he does. He actually doesn't really want money, he only wants his old life back, only to discover that it is gone, too. But there is Rand, something his father build. So first he just wants his identity back and then he discovers that Rand is tainted, so he wants to fix it, all this without realizing what really pushes him forward is the desire for revenge.
And no, none of those feelings are healthy and a lot what Danny does is fairly egoistical. But he means well when he goes after the drug dealers. He means well when he wants to sell the drug cheap. He means well when he rescues the daughter of the Russian, even forgoing to following the teachings of Kunlun to put the victory over her life. He means well when he goes after the Hand.
