Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ah, yeah, this is where Ward become really interesting. The show invites the audience to dismiss characters like him as flat stereotypes - naturally he is just the baddy who is bad for shits and giggles. And then it suddenly peels the stereotype away and you realize "oops, this guy is actually way more complicated". I mean, Ward is basically trapped in some sort of cage. He never really lead the company, he just did what his father told him. He never could lead the live he wanted, he was forced into it and then every step he did was controlled. And he couldn't just run away because he knew that in this case, Joy would have to take his place and he obviously loves Joy. Hell, he even likes Danny on a certain level, otherwise he wouldn't have warned him not to trust Harold. Ward is still a dipshit in a lot of ways, but I get him, and as a result I like him (even though he is actually way more douchy than Danny is in a lot of ways).
About Iron Fist: anyone else get the feeling that the final episode seemed really out of place? Not that it was a bad climax, mind you, more that it felt like they took the entirety of Iron Fist Season 2 and compressed it down to be the final episode of Season 1. I thought the season worked perfectly fine without that last episode, ending it on a fight with Bakuto and then a fight with Danny's best friend. The stuff with Harold felt like it could've been the entirety of Season 2.
They showed off some Black Panther footage at the Congressional Black Caucus
' recent conference. Sounds like the fight scenes are pretty badass.
I think Silver Age comics Hulk would like One Punch Man. He'd connect to a protagonist who's the strongest one there is and has no friends and lives alone.

He might be offended at the one panther in it being something of a Butt-Monkey.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."He might be offended by the whole production, and the same with Lion King.
Nobody show him Tarzan.
My various fanfics.Lion King he might appreciate, if only for the theme of a young prince suddenly thrust into Kingship after his father, the King's cruel murder.
I imagine him tackling the screen when Simba abandons the Pridelands and going "GET BACK THERE, GET BACK AND KILL SCAR, YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO YOUR PEOPLE." And when Simba finally does, he'd shout "YES, AT LONG LAST THE RIGHTFULKINGRETURNS."
"All you Fascists bound to lose.""T'Challa, he's a child and Scar's an adult-"
"HE STILL COULD HAVE CLAWED HIS EYES OUT, STARK!"
My various fanfics.I can totally see Tony watch The Incredibles and then in total panic went to check on the kid from Ironman 3 to see if he didn't inadvertently create a Syndrome after what happened with Killian.
Isn't Word of God that Peter Parker was the kid from Iron Man 3. So, success?
