Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm going to put my money on ostensible hallucination that interacts with Jess when no one's around, ominously revealed halfway through to be an actual person - not Kilgrave but a new villain - manipulating her.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.In any case, you can count me out. I love the guy as an actor, but Tennant in Jessica Jones was way too pants-shitingly scary for me. I'd rather remember him currently as the awesome Scrooge McDuck.
Anyhoo, we might not see Nick Fury in Infinity War...or Avengers 4.
Poo.
It seems like with S.H.I.E.L.D. only living in the quasi-canon Agents series, Marvel's trying to quietly write Fury out.
It makes sense, really. Without S.H.I.E.L.D., he's basically just Black Widow with a penis. Having him just sorta show up in a barn to give Stark a pep-talk in Age of Ultron was already a pretty awkward and silly way to use him.
There just isn't anything for him to do now other than pop up from time to time to remind us that he exists.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I mean, I get it, but I'd honestly prefer if they gave him a definitive ending of some kind.
I mean, it's the culmination of everything that's come before - it'd be weird if the guy who helped start it all never showed up.
Oh God! Natural light! It would feel like something's missing if he didn't show up for at least a cameo. The cinematic universe didn't truly begin until he showed up, after all.
This song needs more love. So, the first movie?

She/TheyProvided that Samuel L stays in semi-action condition long enough, it might be nice for him to be offscreen for a while and then pop up down the line to trigger Secret Wars. Of course, they'd probably need a replacement villain for Lucia Von Bardas, and a bigger plot for it to branch into - but Marvel Ultimate Alliance did a decent job of making that a good opening act to something else, so I like the idea in general.

I'm 100 percent certain Jackson is being coy. This would not be the first case of an actor trying to say they might not be in an Avengers movie, only for that to turn out to be bullshit. In May it was also reported that he was shooting with the other Avengers in Scotland
, so there's that as well.
Captain Marvel has a new writer
. One of the previous co-writers had to bail to direct a movie for Disney.
