Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He's a guy who can literally shrink down to the size of a bug. Trying to find a way to spend time with his kid despite being a criminal isn't that hard to imagine. Unless the cops are employing anteaters now.

Unless they've got trained ant patrols after him now, there's really not much they could do to stop without putting a 24/7 detail on his family. In fact, a dad trying to find a way to spend time with his kid while evading the law is a pretty compelling take in its own right.

It'd be more compelling if he'd given them two seconds of thought before listening to Captain Quixote.
Also he's carrying around tech that could easily become the greatest asset to terrorists world over, and he's wanted for attacking U.N officials who report to the American Sec Def. it'll be child's play to secure a 24/7 detail on his family.
And if they can find a way to stop a guy who can literally shrink himself and others down to a microscopic level, by golly did I underestimate our police!
Otherwise, it really doesn't mean a damn. If a guy who can shrink wants to spend time with his kid, he's gonna find a way.

I never understood the notion that Scott risking prison for cap is ooc for him. This is EXACTLY what he would do. It is the same thing he did in Ant-man, too, because Hank convinced him that protecting Cassie's world was more important than everything else. Cassie is safe with a loving mother and a loving father, while Scott certainly wants to be part of her life, too, he would gladly risk everything as long as it means that she is protected.
Doesn't need to literally go microscopic. Just tiny enough to evade notice.
SHIELD doesn't exist as far as the movies are concerned. I am amused though that most of what you're describing in an attempt to prove the film is somehow ignoring Civil War is all stuff that sounds like it could potentially be in the movie anyway (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they had Jimmy Woo playing the Tommy Lee Jones role from The Fugitive in this).

Also I'm fairly certain his shrinking gear would have been confiscated before he was put in the Raft, so unless they just kept everything in a locker there for Cap to steal, instead of handing it to Tony or something, the cops shouldn't be too concerned about that at least until Hank gets involved.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyWho says Tony held on to any of it? He didn't want any of these guys in Jail. Before he got he was forced to fly to Siberia to help Cap, he was probably already thinking of ways to keep their tech away from Ross.
Then again, Tony wouldn't have been allowed near it anyway since he failed so badly, so it's a moot point.
One Strip! One Strip!Falcon is using his flying suit in the trailer for Infinity War, so unless someone built him a new one that looks the same (which is admittedly possible with Black Panther in the mix), I'm going to guess Cap and the others stole back their gear when they escaped.

Fine, C.I.A F.B.I , some other shadowy agency, point is Scott is beyond wanted he's not getting close to his kid in any way that won't beggar belief , and frankly he probably shouldn't considering how much heat is on him.

The Pyms are almost certainly either under investigation or arrest since Scott Mentioned Pym by name to Stark.
Why would they keep their weapons in the same damn building ?

Again that sounds like something that would actually be explored in the film and given the explicit mention of Civil War in the logline, likely will be. You're just insisting for some reason they're ignoring Civil War based on a mention of him trying to spend time with his kid and kind of moving the goalpost around.

There was no need for Scott to mention Hank. Hank used to work for shield and while this information might not be in the shield files which were leaked (due to him being active before everything was put into a computer), it would be naïve to believe that the government doesn't know about him at all.
@Handsome Rob: like I said, "or something"
Also I've not seen the IW clip, but yeah, not unreasonable to think Wakanda could build Sam some new wings.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyNot really, no. He's trying to do his Ant-Man thing and also find time to stop in on his daughter. That sounds perfectly reasonable and a conflict that would be interesting to explore in the film. And I'll say again, if they were ignoring his status from Civil War, it seems like it'd be an odd decision to explicitly mention Civil War in the logline and say he's dealing with the consequences of it.
Those two ideas aren't incompatible.

I think you're assuming a lot from a few vague sentences. I don't think we can really make judgements about this until we know more.

It also says balence his home life with his duties as Aant Man.
A home life it's hard to imagine him having now that he's an international criminal.
