Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Didn't even mention Gargoyles.

Well, they didn't mention Captain Anderson, Spawn, or Keith the Handyman (which I didn't know was a thing
), either. The man keeps busy.

Just five more seasons of The Cape and he can show up as Max Malini.
Some interesting stuff about M'Baku
.
“Well, M’Baku is the charismatic young leader of the Jabari tribe,” Duke tells Comic Book.com at Comic-Con International: San Diego, “and the Jabari tribe is one of Wakanda’s main tribes. They’ve removed themselves from the mainstream Wakandan society and they don’t really believe in the importance of vibranium, so the movement of the country forwards that puts them at odds with how the country is ruled and everyone else, for the most part.”
I'm glad they're keeping that aspect. The different tribes having different viewpoints and beliefs makes the setting feel fully realized.

I wonder if they're going to incorporate the religious extremism and terrorism angle into the Jabari tribe's backstory or if they're going to make it entirely politically motivated. The former was a pretty interesting plot element but they might be holding back on it either because they think it's too controversial, or because they want to save it up for a sequel that focuses on M'Baku more heavily and introduces Queen Divine Justice.

None that I can think of, but Keith David's in a unique spot of being known as a live actor but also having a strong niche as a voice actor. I would be surprised if just his voice appears in a role at some point in the future, or at least I hope so.
Hmm. So this guy thinks Ultron was preparing to fight Thanos then?
It does put the doesn't know the difference between saving the world and destroying it line in a totally different context. Maybe when Wanda looked into Ultron's head, he didn't really see the Stark part of him, but something else.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah. it was the experiments on the Gem that gave both her and Pietro her powers.
One Strip! One Strip!I dont think ultron know about thanos, is more that he act like Tony, who wittness the full scale of the chitauri and was in space for a moment, in Many way that stick to him.
One can said ultron represent a lot of of Tony psique until that moment: his fear something out there waiting to strike, the need for a powerfull weapon(ultron is pretty much is own suit concept expand into global scale), the idea steve is a Soldier without a war and dangerous for it,etc.
Ultron is Tony worst fears, since the first movie to AOU.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"It's actually bizarre to see the Power Pack and Shang-Chi of all people up there.
How much Ultron is consciously aware of Thanos is unclear. Thanos is strongly implied to be at least partially responsible for his creation and subsequent rampage, but there's no real indication in the film that their connection runs more than one direction.

The films will acknowledge LMDs if they ever get an idea for a way to use them. Which they will do regardless of whether that idea gels with what was established in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Notably, the films technically already acknowledged them with the first Avengers film's gag, "You have reached the Life Model Decoy of Tony Stark."
Despite the LMD arc of S.H.I.E.L.D. establishing that they were being created for the first time, they were able to avoid a continuity error by stating that the project was a revival of an old Cold War thing S.H.I.E.L.D. had once tried to do. Thus, functioning LMDs are new, but the concept is old enough for Stark to be making jokes about it.
The showrunners work very hard to ensure that their stuff doesn't inadvertently contradict the film team's work. Rest assured, the film team will not return the favor.
