Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Entertainment Weekly's detailed description of the Black Panther footage played[1]
So the Blacksmith is also Surtur.
Damn it Frank, you had one job.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?So basically:
Fox: Hey, we can use the Skrulls too! We're just...strategizing how we can use them in our new F4 movie.
Marvel: Yeah, sure. You keep strategizing on how you can use them for that new F4 movie that you're totally not going to procrastinate on until the last conceiveable minute. Meanwhile, we're going to use the Skrulls in the here and now and basking in the awesomeness of catching our fans unawares.
Fox: Oh, screw you!
Real talk (again), given Captain Marvel is apparently taking place in the 90's and the Skrulls are famous for their shapeshifting skills, you guys think the movie will make reference to They Live!?
I look forward to the numerous Mr. Krabs jokes that will inevitably spawn from this.
This song needs more love. What we knew beforehand was that the Skrulls had shared rights with Fox and Marvel, I think? Like, they can use the Skrulls but not some specific things like Super-Skrull or something. But we didn't, like, expect them to be in a movie or anything.
Of course this makes me wonder if they're gonna try doing Secret Invasion or some shit, I dunno. Doubt they'll do it so soon after Infinity War.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I thought the rules with the Skrulls were that Marvel Studios owned the species as a whole, but Fox owns Super Skrull in particular (which, when you think about it, is really dumb: how were Fox supposed to work Super Skrull into a movie without the Skrulls themselves?).

That, and the X-Men never really fought the Skrulls, did they? No, their space bad guys are the Shi'ar, right?

I suppose.
That's not how it works. Both companies can use the Skrulls, there are just restrictions. Marvel (obviously) isn't allowed to use the Super-Skrull and certain other named ones. Fox can use Skrulls in general.
It is not unlike how both studios can use Quicksilver but Marvel isn't allowed to call him a Mutant or say who his dad is.

Having no knowledge of the comic event, what are the odds we see Jörmungandr here?
