Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Even if that is true (which I very very highly doubt), I don't even care about the Four themselves. Wake me up when Doom shows up.
This song needs more love.
Just remember that not a lot of people cared that much about Iron Man before the MCU started and now he's the face of the Marvel brand, so maybe a quality MCU entry might just be what the Fantastic Four needs for people to give a shit again.
Now I just need to find an Infinity Gauntlet so I can make this rumour true...

But there are only four covered objects, yes?
...Maybe they cut someone out? Supergiant, maybe? I can see one feeling that having both her and Ebony Maw would be redundant.
Oh God! Natural light!
Well of course it is. No need for the First Family to be a part of things when we've got the Second Family right here. All we need now is to give one of them some grey sideburns and a genius iq, another blond hair and an attitude problem, the third rockey skin and a different kind of attitude problem, and the fourth one boobs, and we're set!
I doubt that they will introduce anything in Infinity war which isn't directly related to Infinity war. For one, the movie is already crowded as it is and two, it is supposed to be the conclusion for the first phases, not a set-up for the next ones. On top of this Feige has already signalled that he has no intention whatsoever to reveal what comes next.
Shut up, everyone. Four objects, yes? FOUR. Now, let's remember that when Matt Murdock got his powers it was because of an accident. A lot of toxic and radioactive shit spilled and got to his eyes. But we see that there's like a million barrels everywhere, also spilling. Where did all that residue go? Obviously, it went to the sewers. And there just so happened to be four little turtles hanging in the sewers...
I think the Fantastic Four, especially, would probably benefit from being back with the people who made them. This isn't actually the case with everybody - lots of characters get perfect adaptations from people who had nothing to do with their inception. But with the Four, a recurring problem with Fox is that they don't really seem to get what makes the Four unique and instead tries to plays them with safe and generic superhero or action stories. Maybe it's because the whole idea of a wonder-hopping cosmic explorer/adventurer movie is passe nowadays, and Fox isn't interested in exploring the genre with characters they can just do - but then, that's another thing Marvel has a leg up on: they're not afraid to play their characters with genres that the comics explore but which you don't typically see in superhero movies.
Or in short, it's almost certainly not the Four, but I'm hold on a little bit of optimistic hope.
Yeah, probably way more likely.

The Four work well when they combine and contrast two different genres: spacial and dimensional explorers, and slice-of-life. The first two Foxtastic Fours did the latter okay, but not the former, while Fant4stic approached the former, but ended up failing miserably at both.

I was spoilering it because we don't know for sure what it is, and spoilering helps keep the potential surprise down while also kind of showing its not on the same level as the normal conversation.
If it turns out to be real, I'd actually stop spoilering it because then it would be an official announcement.

Wasn't that just a joke made up by Screen Junkies?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
