Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

My general theory is that Carol Danvers gets wrapped up in the events of Infinity War simply because she's a kickass Air Force pilot. This either leads directly to her getting superpowers within Infinity War, or gets her on the right person's radar. Which in tutnv leads to her being sent on a mission at the start of her own movie, on which she gains superpowers.
In this scenario, Nick Fury would definitely qualify as the right person to take notice of her in Infinity War and send her on a mission in Captain Marvel.
Unless all of his appearance are flashbacks!
In all seriousness, though, while it'll be nice to see Fury again, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I'm a little concerned that having to focus on him might take away time from developing more members of her supporting cast (I know I'm not the only one who really wants Monica).
That said, I don't really have any real reason to worry about that as of yet, and having Fury in the movie might help to make it clear that, no, Carol really is an important part of the MCU.
Oh God! Natural light!I thought that sounded odd. He's never "co-starred" in a solo hero film before (you could make a case for the first Avengers, I think) - why would this one be different?
Oh God! Natural light!I suppose? I would say Black Widow is more of a co-star than him. He'd probably come directly after in my estimation of that, though.
Oh God! Natural light!

If Vulture ends up on the Masters of Evil or something, I want a aviation movie esque midair dogfighting battle between him and Falcon.
