Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Iron Man is my bet, given Downey's age and desire to do other projects. Cap too, given Chris Evans has talked about pursuing other things.
Plot-wise, Thor and Iron Man would be the ones I can see having most impact in their deaths. Stark because he's the face of the MCU, the one who started it all and arguably the most popular of them, so his death would be the most shocking for the audience (and it'd tie his Redemption Quest neatly for him to die saving the universe). Thor because as a Proud Warrior Race Guy with a tendency to lapse into verbose threats, it'd be pretty easy to give him the most epic Last Stand possible.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Chris Evans has signalled pretty definitely that he is ready to do more, and I kind of expect Marvel to take him up on the offer. Replacing Steve with Bucky or Sam is an option, but I don't think that it is a must.
But I expect Tony to retire at the very least (RDJ is ridiculous expensive and the character really becomes too old to fly around and shoot people) and Thor might go to Asgard for a while.
I hope that if Loki dies, he comes back as Kid Loki, to pave the way for a Young Avengers movie.
Oh God! Natural light!![]()

God, finally a proper flying city.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
But that'll mean the fangirls and apologists will riot.
Seriously though...why Drax? Isn't he confirmed to appear in Got G 3?

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I don't see Drax or Groot dying either. Off the ones suggested, I can only see Nick Fury dying and definitely Nebula has her days fucking counted. She'll probably die in Gamora's arms, finally free of Thanos's influence.
I was just counting main heroes but if we're tallying secondary characters too, my list would be: Iron Man, maybe Thor, Nebula, Loki, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, maybe Black Widow, maybe Cap, quite probably the entirety of the Nova Corps we've been introduced up to this point, The Collector and Vision (temporarily).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Hawkeye could go either way. He has the least reason to be kept around but they also already leaned so heavily on the "Hawkeye is totes gonna die, yo" plot in the last Avengers movie that they may not want to repeat it.
I agree with the speculation this could be the end of Iron Man in some form. Maybe not dead but retired. They keep stressing this is the end of the story that began in Iron Man 1.
If anything it should have end in Iron man 3 who is pretty much is end on solo movies.
also, didnt capitan stop using the identity and asume another one? they should bring that after Civil war, otherwise it would feel they wasted the conflict.
Also I see Vision is dead, he pretty much have a bullseye in his forehead
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Thanos was set up as the bigger bad only 5 years ago- so more like Half a decade
Also something that bugs me about these movies is they introduce new villains only to have them promptly killed off at the end. The tv shows don't suffer this same problem , but wouldn't it be better to NOT kill off Thanos, so he could potentially have a role in future films?

I need to cool off. I can't write a proper response with all this hatred boiling in my blood.
