Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

She is rescuing a guy with a credit card, acts as a sounding board for Danny's trauma in one of the better character scenes in the show (in fact it is more or less her job to address how f... up Kunlun actually is), participates in the fight in China and I would mention the rest but that would be too much of a spoiler.
The only thing which irritates me is that at no point she mentions Matt or contacting Matt.

Isn't this the kind of situation that she wanted Matt to be less involved with?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMatt seems to have taken a break from superheroing in season 2 of DD. Odd that she doesn't call Jessica, though.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Did she ever get Jessica's number?
I don't think she gets as close with Jessica as she did Matt and Luke
Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe only met Jessica for one episode and I'd doubt she could just call Jessica and say "Hey Jess, it's me, that one nurse who helped that guy you shot, wanna help us fight ninjas?". Though I would've liked to see Danny find out that Joy hired her to dig up dirt on the company's board members.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Inhumans premiering on Fridays and Agents of SHIELD being held until midseason
I'm gonna guess Agents of SHIELD is getting a shortened season then. Probably for the best since they're cutting the budget. Inhumans airing on Fridays doesn't sound like they have much faith in it, though.
Also, back to Iron Fist, I just realized something: Danny's entire plan in Episode 8 to capture Madame Gao was fucking stupid. "Oh, I'll just fly my ass to China with my friend who knows swordfighting and my other friend with barely any martial arts experience to capture a woman who can throw me through a wall without even touching me!" Jesus fucking Christ Danny, you fucking suck. Like, at this point I'm reconsidering how much I dislike Matt Murdock when it dawns on me more and more about my problems with Danny. He's impulsive and stupid, and it's to the show's detriment because it just feels like he's doing this because the plot says so. I'm not opposed to Danny being an idiot and I understand why he's one, but it's still infuriating and kind of confusing, really.
And I think another issue I have is that Danny's personality is hard for me to latch on to. It's like Scott Buck was trying to figure out what to use for Danny's central arc: his anger issues? His desire to retake his company from the corporate assholes running it? His return to New York despite being appointed the defender of K'un L'un? I can latch onto who Matt Murdock is (Catholic struggling with blood knight tendencies and is kind of an asshole but means well), who Jessica Jones is (a smartass who has gone through a lot of shit and is fairly cynical), and who Luke Cage is (a nice guy who fights for what he believes in and acts as an inspiring symbol even though he's kind of apprehensive about it in the beginning). I just can't quite latch onto who Danny Rand is.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? This is almost a death knell for Ao S but I don't mind it. Fringe and Person of Interest finished their shows with fifth seasons this way and it was hype.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Oh shit, something I'm glad I just found: Clark Gregg is doing a Reddit AMA today.
It's at 12:30 PST.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Basically, you remember how Agent Carter filled with winter break for Agents of SHIELD? Same deal, only Inhumans is coming first instead of in the middle.
Aaand it's confirmed for 22 episodes.

Yeah, did some looking and it's a full season order. If it's airing on Fridays, this is gonna be a death slot for it, but who knows, this could still be good. Probably gonna still have some good episodes.
Anyways, got done with episode nine of Iron Fist. I really hate Bakuto. Not as a character, but because his actor fucking sucks. He can't fucking act. Like, I thought Finn Jones was kind of weak as an actor, but there's at least moments where I feel like he's actually doing a good job. Bakuto? He's horrible. Absolutely horrible.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? With each passing day I agree with you more.
But also: at least his actor can fight like a motherfucker, as you'll soon see.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Agents of Shield already did air in a dead spot last season and it did better there than any other show beforehand. Plus, this might allow some viewers who previously couldn't turn in because it was so late to do so now.
And it gets a full episode order, so this only means less interruption in the scheduling, which is a good thing. Last season was a nightmare, especially in the beginning, with the show skipping every other week because of the presidential debate, plus one hiatus between each story arc. Showing it with only one hiatus for Christmas and otherwise without interruption might do the ratings a lot of good.

The concept she finds a remotely good idea to follow these two master martial artists to China to fight immortal supernatural ninja demon swordsmen is also hilariously absurd.
