Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I don't think that this is low budget...apparently I Max is paying a chunk of the production cost. The idea is more to have an IMAX specific movie....pretty useless for me, though, since even if there were an European release, there is no imax close to me.
Yeah, I meant to say that Ward was giving me a similar vibe to that.
I'm starting to really like Madame Gao now. I kinda liked her in Daredevil, but they amp the creep factor with her in Iron Fist with how she tortures Harold, and it's great. How is she a leader of the Hand, though? She's Chinese and didn't seem particularly close to Nobu in any way.
Also, the hallway fight was...alright, I guess.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Welllll
the Hand is actually an international organization with different branches or lets say 'fingers.' Nobu, Gao, and unintroduced third person all lead their own different group of the Hand. Nobu likes faceless yellow peril ninjas, Gao likes gonzo martial arts fighters and druuuuuuuuugs, and third person is more self-help culty.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Oh yes, indeed.
EDIT: OK, I'm on Episode 5, AKA The one where Claire finally shows up. Danny and Colleen are doing stuff, but what I'm confused by (and I was probably zoning out when they explained this) is why exactly is the Rand company selling heroin?

They're not. They're just being used to ship it by an outside party. Ever see Breaking Bad? They did the same thing with fast food trucks delivering meth.
Rand as it now stands is into some pretty shady shit even at the level Joy knows about, let alone what Ward is doing on his father's behalf, never mind the things Harold is running on his own, to say nothing of the board's illicit activities and those elements of the company that have been infiltrated by the Hand.
Changing up from Iron Fist a bit, here's a piece of Guardians of the Galaxy fanart that made me laugh:

I can see Wendy with her trusty axe discussing with Gamora chopping techniques, Soos completely baffling Drax with his metaphors, and Dipper and Rocket discussing scientific things.

I kinda had the opposite reaction. I recognized the artist's URL and I was confused because I didn't know that artist drew MCU stuff, and then I saw the crossover, and I was like, "Ohh, that explains it."

He also drew this after the Thor: Ragnarok trailer.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? It's addictive but gets a vastly more powerful high and it does not use a needle (instead it works kind of like a nicotine patch you glue to your skin). And your body can't build resistance to it so every time you take it, it'll be just as powerful as the first time (Unlike our regular drugs).
It's essentially heroin if heroin got superpowers and became a supervillain
