Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ultimates 3 says different.
RIP Scarlet Widow. Sister. Lover. Sister/Lover.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. The general idea in Age of Ultron was that once an act was occurring, Quicksilver couldn't change physics in his favor. Hence why he wasn't able to escape the glass falling out from under him. It wasn't held to very tightly, in truth the biggest issue was somehow moving a car fast enough to save Hawkeye. If he's capable of that, snagging two people away from harm should have been the simple solution.
He didn't shield those people. He moved them away from the bullets...but wasn't quite fast enough to move himself away from the bullets at the same time. So, basically, he used his speed to save them, but not himself.
It's actually pretty similar to what happened to Yo-Yo in the AOS the third season finale — she was fast enough to catch nearly all of the bullets, but one of them went through and hit her. Luckily, it was in the side and they were able to get her medical attention, so she lived. (I mean, they had to cauterize the wound with a blowtorch, but still.)

That would be a neat tactic, though I presume a bullet thrown at superspeed still wouldn't be very effective because it wouldn't be propelled straight (hence why rifles have barrels to stabilize the projectile). Might be deadly if he threw around slingstones, though.
I'm actually not sure how Pietro died. As noted, there's no way he moved the car to shield Hawkeye. That means he had to have moved Hawkeye and the kid. But if he moved them, then there's no reason he couldn't have just stayed behind cover with them. It's like he put them into cover and then dashed away to get shot.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Bocaj's correct. The way the scene is shot and played out implies he shoved Hawkeye and the kids out of the way but during the process he was riddled with bullets. Which is why he stops dead on his tracks a few inches away from cover.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."The takeaway here is that whatever the pattern of events in the movie it was too unclear.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers"I've written a movie where the villain is not in any way a threat and victory is assured. We've still got twenty minutes left. You have to die."
My various fanfics.

Quicksilver is a gun. Logically, he should be able to throw bullets faster than they're propelled by a modern firearm.
