Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I thought the quality difference between the first and second halves of Season 2 was much better than the quality difference between the first and second halves of Season 3. Whitehall wouldn't have lasted beyond the first half but he was a fun villain to watch when he was on.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I actually liked Ward's breakdown over the course of Season 2. If they'd killed him off right at at the end, that would've probably worked perfectly for me— he'd shed all the traits that let him pretend he was the hero and wronged party, but still refused to accept any blame for his actions. So kill him then and there. That could've been a pretty satisfying conclusion to the tale of Grant Ward.

I'm not even slightly familiar with that particular directorial team they picked for Captain Marvel, but their movies are critically well-received and well-acted according to Rotten Tomatoes, which is a very positive indication for their general directing skills.
Beyond that I trust in Kevin Feige's judgement. That man's ability to find good directors is a boarderline superpower.
So, he's Mojo
?
The second new Guardians Gunn had wanted to have in Guardians Vol. 2 was Adam Warlock
.
Sounds like he will be in Part 3.
I mean I know his general gist
I just didn't know if he had been added to that arbitrary group of ridiculous single issue wonkers like Ego had been
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI enjoyed Brett Dalton in more or less all incarnations, but I think Free-Agent Ward is my favourite (because it was so much fun trying to figure him out), followed by Frameward and then Squidward - because that was just creepy. But yeah, Hydraward really showed how much he is not leader material - but that was kind of the point of this arc, wasn't it.
Not sure if I'd call it a superhero show given none of the characters are actually superheroes, just government agents doing their job.
I actually think that was a major flaw in the way the show was marketed. Season 1 was very much a police procedural set in a superhero universe but all the promotional stuff focused very heavily on the "set in a superhero universe" part. Up to the point the promos were promising things like "See where the Avengers left off!" which of course pissed off people when what they actually got was a show about a bunch of human people in business suits.
Another set of big cameos for Guardians confirmed
. Michelle Yeoh appears as the female Starhawk and Ving Rhames appears as Charlie-27
. They're part of the original Silver Age Guardians.
