Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ha! I made a joke over in the New Warriors thread that the series would have as much to do with the Warriors as Defenders does with its title group, so naturally, the cast will be entirely comprised of various GLA members. Mr. Immortal was one of the ones I called out.
Obviously, this cast does actually feature a couple prominent New Warriors rather than being a weird In Name Only adaptation using a group of characters much better known under a different name, but it's funny that I was actually right about Mr. I.
EDIT: I'm expecting it to be a conceptual mashup between New Warriors and Great Lakes Avengers. Basically, they have the GLA's pathetic joke status, but occasionally do some actual good.

True...so, who else has looked for a nice little playlist at Youtube and is now listening to the songs they picked for Vol. 2?
BTW, I have two ideas how Peter could get a new mixtape: Either his mother gave one to his father and he gives it to him, or he encounters his grandfather when he comes back to earth and he made one for him too after he vanished.....

- Peter Quill: Man. Earth. It's been so long. So much has changed. I don't even know where to begin.
- Steve Rogers: Don't worry, Space Man. I'd be happy to show you the amazing world of modernity! To start, we have this mysterious contraption called the internet. It promises knowledge, but don't trust it because it's full of lies. And women. Lies and women.
- Peter Quill: Wow! How do you get the women out of the computer?
- Steve Rogers: I'm still trying to figure that out.
- Tony Stark: Y'know, I really should be stopping this but I want to see where it goes.
Steve: "There are these things called meh-mehs. They appear to be humor-based but I've yet to understand their true purpose."
Peter: "Man there's a lot more suicide humor than I remember."
Steve: "Also, pornography is everywhere. And free. It's absurd."
Clint: "He didn't leave his apartment for like a week when we told him."
Steve: "THAT IS FACTUALLY UNTRUE."
My various fanfics. So the Roxxon Corporation is seen at the end. I guess they are maybe doing the Ultimate Marvel where Roxxon is responsible for their powers?
Looks like fans of Scarlet Witch and Vision will finally get what they want[1]
- Quill: All I ever wanted was my father's love. But then he was a planet. That was...that was weird.
- Loki: Once I turned into a woman and gave birth to a horse with eight legs.
- Stark: Mmm...nah, I have to give it up for planet-dad. You chose to do that. I don't know why you would choose to do that, but you did.
- Loki: Never try to drink my brother under the table.
- Stark: Oh, please. I'm wasted right now, you lightweight.
- Quill: Hey, guys? Can we get back to talking about my weird family problems?
- Murdock: Hey, you want to talk about weird dad problems? I was basically raised by a creepy old man to fight ninjas. Ninjas. But somehow I also found time to go to law school.
- Loki: Yes, I've never understood how someone trained for a life of combat would even manage to fit public education into his schedule, let alone why you would even want the mountain of work that comes with being a lawyer.
- Murdock: I honestly don't know what I was thinking. I owe thousands in student loans for what must be the world's most expensive pair of Clark Kent glasses.
- Stark: All for a job you don't even bother showing up to.
- Murdock: I don't make great life choices.
- Loki: Well, you're certainly the only one at this table who can say that.
- Quill: Hey, guys? My dad's still a planet. What do I do about that?
- Loki: I know a neat trick with the Bifrost—
- Stark: NO.
You know what I want? A post- Infinity War stinger starring Steve and Bucky. It's Christmas time, and the two of them are living together again (maybe Bucky's on probation and one of the conditions is being under Steve's supervision). They get a package from Tony. As Steve is opening it Bucky speculates that maybe Tony's finally forgiven them. Steve replies with "I don't think he's there yet,". "Why, what is it?". And it's revealed that inside the box is a velvet bag containing exactly 30 silver coins. No humor like dark humor, right?
Thirty pieces of silver are what Judas was given to betray Christ.

Mister Immortal is a weird addition. I guess his powers are very budget friendly though.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
