Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Anyways, I like how Fisk has started to show more traits of the comic book Kingpin now. I'm starting to like him as a villain more. Like, he was a great villain in Season 1, don't get me wrong, but he kind of undermined himself with the whole career suicide thing.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Bryan Singer left to go to make Superman Returns, so there's little to suggest he would have made a great movie. Especially when the problem with the Last Stand was at its core, with its total disrespect for the characters. People talk smack about Deadpool and his mouth, but I still say The Last Stand is worse because it basically turns Jean Grey and the Phoenix into little more than a prop, carted from place to place by Magneto for him to use, in her own movie.
I'm done with episode nine, gonna take a break to jog some. What I can say though: fuck the Hand. Not in a "fuck these evil guys" way, I mean fuck them for being so fucking pointless. What even is their motive? I can see the general "take power" thing like what Fisk was doing, background influence and shit, but why are they drawing blood from people? That just feels like an unnecessary addition to make them more "evul". Is it something to do with immortality or whatever?
Nobu looks kind of badass in his new gettup with the black coat and ninja outfit, but he's still flatter than paper. He had barely any character in season one compared to Fisk's other gang members who all had more personality than him, and now we have him just doing generic "evul" schemes for nothing but "da evulz". And for a guy who hates killing, Matt kinda fucking forgot that he totally killed Nobu. Maybe he could argue that it didn't fully count because Nobu's death was unintentional, but you'd think he'd be upset about it when the first four episodes are about him and the Punisher duking it out over the no-kill code. Jesus fucking Christ, Matt, this is why you're my least favorite Defender. I haven't even gotten to see Danny Rand yet and I already like him a thousand times better than you.
Also, what the fuck even is a Black Sky?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Yeah but Matt sucks as a lawyer so he doesn't get to use that defense.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Its some shitty writing overall.
He spends so much time agonizing over whether to kill Fisk or not that you think he'd spare some thought about someone he may have accidentally killed. Maybe even a 'i didn't mean it but i may have damned myself so i deffo don't want to do it again on purpose'
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah. I would love to, at the very least, see Matt actually doing the rationalizing of why Nobu's death totes wasn't his fault. Even better, wrestling with it internally and making it part of his motivations.
Instead, his reaction in both season 1 and season 2 is to promptly forget it ever happened and go right on moralizing about how he's better than you because he doesn't kill people or solve problems.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Good choice, Jess is amazing.
I really hope we get a Hellcat spinoff out of her. They could call it "It's Patsy!" It'd be hilarious.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Forget being good at it; she actually does her job. That alone puts her ahead of Matt.
She does her job so well she's even doing her job in other Netflix shows
Forever liveblogging the AvengersFunny that you bring that up because a few days ago I saw a post on Tumblr about the Defenders that went something like this (paraphrasing here, because I don't remember it completely):
Luke Cage: Struggles with the morality of killing his enemies.
Danny Rand: Struggles with the morality of killing his enemies.
Jessica Jones: Smile :) (snaps neck)
I mean Jess did still feel pretty awful afterwards, but still.

Haha. What the hell is Matt doing for money these days, anyway? He has to get food somehow. He can't live off of Catholic guilt.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.

I loved Tom Clancy in Splinter Cell: The Twin Snakes.
