Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

If the only way you can make your case is by misrepresenting the other side, then yeah, you don't have much of a case. That's just strawmanning and deflection.
Now, that's not the same thing as simply using their words against them - that's all good, because it's trapping them with logic. But twisting their words into something they never said, nah.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Even if Valkyrie actually is the Enchantress in disguise, that doesn't necessarily mean Amora would also get a Race Lift.
Make mine Marvel.I certainly hope that that theory isn't true, because I'd rather not have the first ever non-green woman of color superhero to appear in an MCU film turn out to be an evil deceiver.
Building on that, I'd also hope that they don't pull a "she was white all along!" twist.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."That argument will never not be bullshit. It's fiction. Everything is "artificial" and the result of a creative choice. One manner of introducing a more diverse character is not inherently more or less organic than any other. Which is moot any way since the director said he cast Thompson because he liked her audition, not because he decided off the bat Valkyrie had to be black.
Karl Urban says many of his scenes are with Cate Blanchett
so actually, I'm just guessing Hela is a Composite Character with Enchantress in this version. Hela is probably the object of his obsession rather than Amora in this version.

Looks like things are getting way too heated in regards to the possible Race Lifting. Can we turn it down, please?
Actually I would be totally down with Bruce becoming Joe Fixit after Infinity War.

If they ever make a Black Widow movie I want this to be the trailer music.

Bill Paxton, who some of y'all might've known from being Agent Garret on Agents of SHIELD's first season, passed away after complications from a surgery.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? So, after watching Doctor Strange again, I just noticed that he's still an OP character. He can trap anyone in the Mirror Dimension and win by default, as without the portal rings (it's that what is called?) , no one can escape.
Hell, what's stopping him of trapping Thanos in that dimension and call it a day in Infinity Wars?

Really? Because I've been told otherwise.
