Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Also cool: the ending shot of the Triskelion is the exact same model as the one ILM did for Winter Soldier — ILM gave it to the Fuse FX, the company that works with Agents of SHIELD.
Damnit, why did it took so long for him directing himself? I wish we would have gotten more episodes from him.
I especially loved the details...like showing the snow at the start of the episode, and then having it all falling down when the hangar opens. Or setting up the fire early on, so that it can later serve as a backdrop for the fight scene, which looked double impressive with all the light and shadow playing into it.
You are right, Spacetime is another episode which really stood out visually.

If you've never directed anything, it's intimidating to do it, especially something effects heavy and fight-heavy as Agents of SHIELD is.
The first episode that Joss Whedon directed was the first season finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Prophecy Girl." It was probably the best episode of the season, but he waited until there was an entire season already filmed before directing.
Some funny, is that for a moment I thought Aida was an example of Ignored Enamored Underling, but was jossed in this episode.

I was thinking about Thor: Ragnarok and how odd it was that Skurge is in the movie without Amora. Then I remembered that the first appearance of Valkyrie was actually Enchantress in disguise, so it's possible that Valkyrie will be a Composite Character, or even that the movie adapts that story and reveals that Valkyrie was the Enchantress the whole time, with the potential for an actual Valkyrie, of course.

Make mine Marvel. It was from an Avengers issue. It was kind of dumb or maybe hilarious and dumb.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Hey, the Thomas-Buscema Avengers run is just classic after classic. "The Name is Yellowjacket", "Behold the Vision", "Death Be Not Proud", the one where the Zodiac holds Manhattan hostage, the one where the Squadron Supreme have to stop a deformed child prodigy from destroying their world...
Those darn bizarro genius babies. Always causing trouble.
Still though "Come On In... The Revolution's Fine"
is not the best in the run.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersDon't take my words and twist them. There's already a ton of white characters in the comics, making them black isn't a big deal. It'd be stupid to racelift Black Panther and Luke Cage to be white, but taking a white character and racelifting them when we already have a shit ton of white characters isn't a big deal.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?If you wanted them to look like the original characters, you'd have a Wolverine who is actually short, a Hawkeye with a mask, a white Heimdall, a white Valkyrie, a white Baron Mordo, a white Electra, and a red haired Scott Lang.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

And that's what the framework is about, right? No regrets, a supposedly happy (or perhaps not so happy) live for everyone.... To me it sounds like the basic idea behind House of M.
