Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

A better look at the prototype Spider-Man suit from Civil War and Homecoming
from the action figure line.
It would probably undermine the necessary seriousness of the moment, but I would still love it if they had a Leaning on the Fourth Wall moment where someone tells Peter they're sick of always hearing about his damn uncle.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."That'd be a hell of a rude thing to say about a dead family member
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI know, it's just a Black Comedy joke I made up in my own head. It would be incredibly inappropriate for an actual Spider-Man story.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Nothing big, I just noticed something. In Winter Soldier when we see Steve's list of stuff to catch up on, I see two glaring omissions: Ghostbusters, and Back to the Future. I can't imagine why nobody would recommend such big pop-culture movies, so I'm going to tell myself they're not on there because Barton already grabbed Steve and made him watch those.
Back To The Future would be an interesting watch for Steve. It's a period piece about a dude from one time period he has no context for having wacky antics as he clashes with the conventions of another time period he has no context for.
He might have some context for the rock and roll plot (since rock & roll is Older Than They Think), but ironically in the opposite direction of the way the film presents it. Less "look how this cool music style started out as!" and more "look how the cool music style changed over the decades!"

I was looking at the cast of Thor: Ragnarok and something came to mind. Valkyrie, Doctor Strange, and the Hulk are the most prominent classic Defenders lineup minus one: Nighthawk. Nighthawk first appeared as a member of the Squadron Sinister which was formed by the Grandmaster, another character appearing in Ragnarok. After noticing this, I think it's not too bold for me to predict some sort of small reference to the Squadron Sinister/Supreme and/or its members in Thor: Ragnarok.
Make mine Marvel.I doubt it. For one I don't expect Doctor Strange's role to be that huge. They might throw in a Mythology Gag about the Defenders but I don't see it actually being a big plot element.

It's a shame, Hunter was always one of the most interesting of T'Challa supporting cast. He might pop up in a later movie though, it could be that the Hatut Zeraze simply aren't relevant at this point.
I can see Klaue being an opportunistic bankroller for Killmonger to fund him in exchange for access to Wakanda's vibranium once he overthrows T'Challa.
