Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Much like how every action-adventurer will find a rival eventually, and for every Sherlock there is a Moriarty, for every fugitive hero there is someone waiting in the wings to hunt them down and bring them in. Scott is the only character who's likely going to get any narrative use out of being a fugitive post Civil War, so him being ruthlessly hunted down is almost a given. Whether it's because someone legitimately thinks he needs to be brought to justice or because of ulterior movies, that depends.
I'd love it if the guy hunting him down is Crossfire, since it would tie in well with the first movie.
Wait...will Ant-man and the Wasp be released before Infinity War? I thought it would be the first movie after....
Anyway...did anyone else notice that the Captain America movies are strangely prophetic? I mean, first the release The Winter Soldier in the same Year the Spying affair happened. And then they release Civil War which features a villain who uses strategically released information with the intend to make an "empire crumble from within" and boom, a few months later we get Trump with the help of Wiki Leaks....
Now I really wonder what Infinity War will be about.....
A Black Panther flashback will apparently feature T'Challa attending school in the US during the 90s [1]
So we'll be seeing Peter Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War.
You know, at this point, I'm wondering why does Ike Perlmutter insist on having a rivalry with FOX given how easy it looks for Marvel to basically fulton a lot of the people FOX hires for their superhero movies. Already we have:
- FOX's first Human Torch as Steve Rogers
- FOX's second Human Torch as an antagonist in Black Panther
- FOX's Foggy Nelson as Happy Hogan
- And now we'll have FOX's Bolivar Trask as...someone who may have some cosmic thing going.
What's next? Halle Berry as Monica Rambeau?

Already, reported dude.
As for Marvel having Fox actors, that's a thing with superhero films in general. There are so many of them being made that there's always going to be some actor crossover. (We already have several former Spider-Man actors in Justice League or Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool after playing Green Lantern.)

Interesting. Hopefully there's some set photos soon.

Ah, I thought it was a case where the actor is being eyed for a role, but hasn't said yes to anything yet.
Made the necessary fixes.
But yeah, I get it's a superhero movie thing. What I find pretty silly is that Ike Perlmutter insists on having a super intense rivalry against FOX when it's clear that (Deadpool and probably X2 aside) Marvel's movies are leaps and bounds better than whatever FOX can muster up.
It's like having a financially powerful man who already has a lot of good things in his life insisting on being rivals with his schlubby neighbor who can't even take care of his lawn.
Also, no response regarding the Monica Rambeau joke casting?

Reverse parachute, basically.
Remember the Skyhook from The Dark Knight? That thing.
So a means of extraction from enemy territory, in other words.

Normally, the word "fulton" would refer to a city in Missouri or some men who have "Fulton" as a last name.
However, in the world of Metal Gear, "fulton" would be referring to the Fulton surface-to-air recovery system, which is, in a nutshell, taking an extremely hi-tech balloon and strapping said balloon onto anything that isn't nailed to the floor such as vehicles, weapons, animals ranging from sheep to bears, or human beings and launching them all the way into the sky to your Mother Base.
Case in point:
So when I was saying Marvel Studios was fultoning actors from FOX, I'm making a gag based on how quickly and easily it is for them to acquire actors who've previously done Marvel-based movies by FOX to do Marvel-based movies done by Marvel Studios.
EDIT: Argggh,
you beat me to it. >_<

So, is anyone wondering how much longer we'll have to wait until we see a trailer for Thor: Ragnarok?
I mean, I'll obviously watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, no questions asked, and Spider-Man: Homecoming will probably be the first actual Spider-Man movie I'll watch in the theaters, but I'm kinda curious about Thor: Ragnarok if only because how positively bonkers it sounds.
Maybe via SDCC 2017 or that D23 convention thing?

Well, the truth is that we have reached a saturation rate where the number of popular actors who haven't been involved with a comic book movie is growing thin. And a number of popular actors became popular because of comic book movies. The MCU has brought on Michael Keaton, while the DCEU has brought on Ben Affleck, Willem Dafoe and JK Simmons.
I think they might drop a teaser after Got G, a full blown trailer after Spider-man.
Next big event is Iron Fist anyway.

Serious question here, does anyone care enough about Scott to do so? Technically the surviving antagonist got what they wanted.
