Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They really only confirmed black characters/actors for the movie so far. But you can make good cases for Klaw, Ross and/or Bucky showing up, and since nobody knows what that would look like, people got angry pre-emptively.
Kevin Feige said for both Everett Ross and Zemo that they'd feature more in other movies, but he didn't specify where. Zemo generally has more options from his comics background, but of course he also has a Wakandan connection now due to being responsible for T'Chaka's death. So who knows. If I were betting I wouldn't expect him to be back before Infinity War, though.

The Aether wasn't on Earth. Jane fell through a portal into the realm where it was kept during the Convergence because plot convenience. It was entirely random happenstance that she acquired it. Thor The Dark World was not a very good film.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Current locations of all Infinity Stones:
- Space Stone: The Tesseract was taken to Asgard at the end of The Avengers.
- Reality Stone: The Aether was taken to the Collector on Knowhere at the end of Thor: The Dark World. It's probably still there, despite the destruction that happened there.
- Power Stone: The Orb was taken to Xandar at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy.
- Mind Stone: The Gem in the middle of Loki's Scepter is now in the center of the Vision's head on Earth as of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Civil War.
- Time Stone: The Eye of Agammotto is also on Earth in Kamar Taj, Kathmandu, as of Doctor Strange.
- Soul Stone: No idea.

I wouldn't be surprised if Got G has an end-credit scene showing that Thanos has just stolen the power stone from Xandar.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Soul Stone has something to do with Ragnarok since Hela is the Big Bad.
I expect the Soul stone to turn up off-earth, and since Gunn sais that there won't be one in Got G Vol 2, Ragnaroc is the most likely option for this.
I tell you, I might have been pretty Luke warm in terms of Doctor Strange hype, but damn am I looking forward to Doctor Strange 2 Mordo gets to take center stage and Ejiofor is going to blow our minds. No AO for the writers to dance around, possibly more focus on Wong, and hay, maybe they'll add in Clea for more female presence.
Given her performance in Doctor Strange, I can't help but think that Tilda Swinton would have made an amazing Clea.
And then we could have had the Ancient One not be a white person.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I am looking forward to more of Eijofor as Mordo. He was probably the most compelling actor onscreen in Doctor Strange. I love Tilda Swinton, but I feel like we needed more time (ha), even if that was mostly in the form of time skips and montages, to really feel the impact of her death. She gets a great death scene and she plays the hell out of it, but I feel like the script could have done more to lead up to that. Because obviously the wise old mentor is gonna die.
Maybe Clea will be based on the Ancient One? She was marked by Dormammu, and that certainly seems like it would be within his powers.

I think that either Heimdal or Hela has the Soul stone...not just because they both have names starting with "h" but because it makes kind of sense. In Heimdal's case it would explain why he is able to see all the souls in the nine realms...but I actually like the idea that Hela has it even better, because that would kind of explain how she is able to control souls without making her actually the literal death.
I've seen some really compelling arguments for Heimdall having the Stone, but the biggest strike against it was them saying in The Dark World that it's unwise to keep two Infinity Stones so close together. It'd seem weird to get rid of the Aether but be perfectly fine having the Tesseract and the Soul Stone so close together.
That's why I think Hela has it.

Today in massive fucking reaches
(very slight Doctor Strange spoilers).
Seriously, as far as I know they are still working out the origin anyway.

Doctor Strange had implications about Thanos' motivations in Avengers.
there was at the time three infinity stones on Earth, the Tesseract, Aether and the Eye of Agomotto. It makes more sense that he would be willing to risk the mind stone to win three infinity stones, especially with the apolcolyptic personality he hid in the mind stone as a contingency plan
