Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh come on, Adric. They just wanted to do something "fun" with Mercy's character.

Don't forget they also had Katana in Suicide Squad, then gave her like five lines and nothing of substance to do.
Thought to give them credit where credit is due, they also racebent Aquaman. And Jason Momoa looks like a goddamn badass in the role.

It's entirely reasonable to be cynical. Hell, I'm pretty cynical myself. But I will still give DC at least theoretical credit for some of the moves they've made - especially since we're still waiting on Marvel to make most of those same moves.
But yeah, this should probably be taken to the DC thread if it goes on.

"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Unfortunately that thread got locked, so I don't know where to take it.
Maybe a change of topic would be nice, because I'd been meaning to ask who exactly this Moon Girl person is that was talked about a few pages back.
I was gonna make that exact joke, but I thought it was too obvious.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Moon Girl is Lunella Lafayette. IIRC, she's a 10 year old girl who is a supergenius and, while trying to make a cure for her Inhuman gene, encounters Devil Dinosaur who takes an immediate liking to her. They go on adventures together. Also, it turns out that her Inhuman power is to be able to swap minds with Devil Dinosaur. Her comic series is really cute, and, yeah, I think it would work best as an animated series.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.It could be turned into a film if they go up to issue 7 or so but it'd probably seen as too "kiddy" for the MCU audience. It definitely has serious moments, but it's more in line with mainline Disney movies such as Big Hero 6 in terms of tone.
Giant red fire-breathing tyrannosaur who entered modern-day New York using a portal from the past along with some sometimes-funny more often-annoying cavepeople called the Killer Folk.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Moon Girl would be fun once there's more material of her to adapt.
It's "Motherland
" apparently.
Civil War concluded its theatrical run this week with $408,084,349 domestically & $1,153,296,293 worldwide. This puts it just behind Iron Man 3… and Minions.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I do wonder if Monica Lynne will show up or not. Probably not, as she ended up being a Butt-Monkey Damsel in Distress so much she flat out broke up with him over it.
Yep, Mjölnir is a hot viking, Cloak a brilliant but neurotic Battle Butler together they are two sentient objects passing in the night. Forever seperated due to their devotion to their masters and their duties.
