Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm kicking myself for forgetting to put Jessica Jones in that skit. Just assume she was in the corner being antisocial and glaring at everyone.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.God, how tightly sealed is that mask that we can see his forehead wrinkles through it?
Taking it off probably sounds like removing a suction cup
That's pretty in character so.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Don't know...I haven't read the review after the excerpt at RT claimed that the movie would remind me of Green Lantern. Which is just...no. I don't hate Green Lantern as much as others do, but I really doubt that I will think of Green Lantern when I watch cities folding into itself. Plus, it's this Forbes Guy. He already gave Civil War just a 6 out of 10....that is the same rating he gives movies like Ben Hur. And Ghostbusters.

From the reviews I've read someone compared Strange to Green Lantern in that they both have a shit load of Exposition Dumps, but that could really be said of most superhero movies.
Though I can see certain character similarities in their supporting casts.
To put it simply, I'm not that interested in a Mighty Whitey story.
I can understand the "sting" some feel having been denied some amazing story about an alienated asian-american finding himself, so I wont judge. Honestly, thinking about it, it does sound like a worthwhile idea to explore within the context of the Marvel Universe. But with how heated some people are getting over this, I now almost expect Finn Jones to promote the series by blowing up Shanghai while cackling like a madman.
I'm not prepared to call the DCEU a sinking ship just yet. Not because they make good movies, because they don't - their movies are crap. But they also make a crapload of money, and that's how franchises are born. Lord knows they certainly seem to have no intention of quitting, looking at how many movies they have lined up for the next several years.
I mean, given the choice I'd rather have a good Asian actor in the MCU, because the MCU both makes better movies and has more to make up for. But it's not as if it's a binary one-or-the-other choice.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."
I dont know, men of steel is good but have some flaw, Bv S is borderline base breaker and SS is kinda bad but entraining, but it feel DC is taking more risky aproach thatn Marvel, who goes "I swear after 15 movies with white guy, there will be minority soon, trust me.....whitewashing? what is that?"
So they're planning to start filming for Black Panther soon.
I wonder what its code name will be, like how Avengers was called "Group Hug".

You people are forgetting the high collar one is not his only costume, or even his main one.
He has a more functional green spandex
◊ and the most workable (plus my personal favorite) just going shirtless with green pants and a yellow belt
◊. The latter one led one of my favorite IF descriptions which was some character (can't remember who, might have been Danny himself) observing IF is truly batshit insane for fighting muggers with his bare chest whilst not being bulletproof.
