Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.RE: the poster: I love it plenty, especially the "Obviously" part. But could someone explain the "Obviously" tagline anyway? I want to assume it was like saying "Of course we would have a sequel, dummies."
RE: the teaser: I was going to see the movie regardless, but this teaser gave me more reason to go forward with my decision.
"SPACESUITS FOR EMERGENCY (or for fun)" and Drax Huggies are easily my personal highlights for this teaser.

And get to be more awesome as well. I liked Zoe Saldana in the first film, but they really didn't right Gamora as the "deadliest woman in the universe." She seemed not that much stronger/more skilled than Black Widow in fact. Hopefully that changes here.
James Gunn has said that her and Nebula's dynamic will get much more focus this time around, so I'm interested to see how that goes.
Also I see that they might be going more into the Quill/Gamora thing that they kind of teased in the first film.
They more than teased it. That scene where Quill shares his headphones with her? That was a total love scene. I love that scene, don't get me wrong, but I'm glad they didn't feel the need to have her fall stark raving in love with him by the end of the movie just because he's the 'hero'. It's much more fitting that she doesn't, at least not at first, because she's Thanos's 'daughter' and personal assassin, while he's just some random dork from Earth.
Her big moment is putting out her hand to Nebula, and Nebula rejecting her. That sibling relationship is much more interesting than just another token romance.
Well, I guess we can get ready to rock out to more classic 80's music.
No complaints here.
Gunn says we're going to see Mantis soon
so I imagine they're saving her for the full version of the trailer.
I know Vision is sort of a "spiritual adaptation" of Adam Warlock, but given the cocoon in GOTG 1 and the main villain being Ayesha/Kismet/Her, slattering him out of existence (or "zemo-ing" him into a borderline unrecognizable character for that matter) after all this indirect buildup would be a dick move.
