Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Nothings happening with Blade no time soon.
Well since Doctor Strange is going to introduce the genuinely mystical side of the MCU, the Darkhold Tome of Eldritch Lore and thus vampires may not be too far behind.
The Darkhold is appearing in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
It hasn't appeared yet, but it's been name-dropped in the show as an important plot MacGuffin that the present antagonists are trying to acquire.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
Well there ya go! For all you and I know, Varnae may be the next Big Bad the agents go up against.
So, just finished seeing Luke Cage, and I must say, that series has been such a tease to me. Everytime someone asked "Where's my money" I was expecting a honey
at the end.
It's a shame that Doctor Doom can't be in the MCU so Luke can beat him up over $200 dollars.
That would have made a better finale then what we actually got in Luke Cage.
I also second the add honey at the end of Where's my money? sentiment.
6 The book Kaecilius is looking for is typically not created without Darkhd because its a retelling of one of the tome's pages. The Darkhold secondly is more often found in scattered pages, which none of can burn. Darkhold's binding can be torn apart but the pages, no. There is only one known copy of Darkhold in the MU. So we have those options to think where Darkhold can go for a season or two. Meanwhile, the dimensional energies behind Darkhold can tie into Dr. Strange as he enters the locations that allow stuff like Ghost Rider to happen.

And now we have this:
Funny thing, I thought the tv version stopped after the second as days go back line just before the last line.
I didn't know there was a longer version of the TV version. Go figure.
One Strip! One Strip!I noticed three things about the new DS IT. First at 1:04 it looks like two different dimensions are emerging into Earths. Baron uses energy boost under his feet to jump far while Strange uses his cape. Strange can still use the time gem without pausing to physically do something else as demonstrated by reversing time in that unamed Chinese city and punching Kaecilius.

Finally found the perfectly worded answer to those who claim that Loki is only popular because of his good looks or fangirls or whatever:

He's good because he's an okay characterized, developed character with an actor who knows how to play the part. Isn't that simple enough lol? Tom's sexiness excusing his goodness is silly. if he was a dimensionaless boring guy like every other baddy around him i wouldnt care to see him for a fourth time.

Basically.
Without going into debate about the merits of the Marvel villains as a whole in-depth, it's not a stretch to say that Loki was pretty much the first one to be a compelling reason to watch the movie in and of himself. Many people - myself included - feel that Thor himself is actually a pretty boring character, and that Loki and the Asgard plotline are the main good things about that film.

As the article rightly points out, what is attractive and what isn't is highly subjective. Tom is actually not really my type, and even though he has a lot of charisma, the reason why I love Loki is because he is such a complex character (and count me in as one of those who watch the Thor movies for him and not for Thor).
The most interesting thing about Thor, Loki, Odin and Frigga is their relationship to each other, and those moments when they focus on the unseen bonds and tensions that only families have, that's when those characters are at their best.
Otherwise, I can't help but feel like I'm missing out on a much better movie starring Dr Selvig, Darcy, Sif and the Warriors Three, lost somewhere in the Nine Realms and having to fantasy/adventure-quest their way back to Asgard.

I do hope they save Dormammammammammammammammammammammammammammammu for the sequel still. Or at least make him only a background presence here.
Though I'm sure we'd have seen him in marketing if he was scheduled to die ignominiously.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
