Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

About the peak human thing, let's not forget that the human brain restricts us to only around 30% of our true strength, as any more than that would be too much for our bodies to actually handle. The serum Steve took probably made it so that he's not only capable of using all 100% of his strength, but that his body is able to withstand that strength as well.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Peak human is a very misused term in comic books and related works. It essentially means "superpowers, but we want to keep acting like they're just scrappy regular people". When you're catching bullets you're kind of out of the realm of peak human.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.

Fight scenes are just one place where you can have tension in a show. Luke Cage is actually at its weakest in the fight scenes in which he actually is in danger, because for one, I don't expect him to die anyway and two, the built up for those battles are pretty flat. The one when he rescues Misty has the most tension because there are so many people in danger in this moment. But his best scenes are actually when he verbally spars with someone.
