Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yep. I found it interesting that Ma Mabel misgendered her while saying that Cornell should have protected her, while Cornell said her correct gender while saying that she should have fought like a man.
Ma Mabel is kind of like Vito Corleone — she's a criminal, but a noble one, doesn't deal drugs, helps the community, but still deals in bad things. She's bad, but not evil.
Well, the MCU and DCCU blew up, I blame everyone except me for it
but aside I remind me something: are the inhuman play a big part in future Marvel movies? it get kinda awkward when they show all over the world and yet not mention in CW, how you think they are gonna tackle
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"We will have to wait and see when it comes to that....Civil war at least kind of acknowledged that there are suddenly enough powered people popping up that "everyone has a gimmick now". And Ant-man did the same thing by saying that there is all kinds of powers nowadays.

It was also kind of ironic that Mr. Bird Costume of all people complained about everybody having a "gimmick" now.
Wasn't Inhumans something that Ike Perlmutter was specifically very interested in pushing and Kevin Feige was specifically not very interested in? I wouldn't be too surprised if the movieverse just quietly ignored the Inhumans.

Rumors are that yes, Inhumans was Perlmutter's pet property, and that Feige had to accept it in order to get BP and CM onto the slate, and now that he's got his way and Perlmutter is out of the equation he's free to kick the Inhumans solo film down the line every few years. They're still shilling hard for the Inhumans on the comics side of things since Perlmutter still has influence over that side of things.
Anyway I'd be totally fine with Kamala not being an Inhuman in the MCU. Her hanging out with Lockjaw and Medusa, and bonding with Lunella are cute, but for the most part it's a dispensable aspect of her character.

Independent from the question whose pet project it was, I actually felt that Inhumans was one of the more interesting announcements they made. But with a lot of the fanbase being angry about the Inhumans replacing the X-men, it will also be under a cloud from the get go should it make it back on the schedule. It certainly doesn't help that Thor is still one of the weaker franchises in the MCU.
When it comes to Ao S, I don't think that the movies need to go into the details where all the powered people are coming from. They can just emphasise a little bit more that they keep popping up, perhaps mention some of the events in the TV shows in a side-sentences. Ie someone could simply list powered people in some sort of context. For example Team Cap can have a "where do we go from here" talk and someone points out that the accords are no longer pertaining just the Avengers, there is also a group of powered vigilantes in New York who are under scrutiny, and this woman who keep causing earthquakes.
At the very least, I would like for a random powered person in the movies to be an Inhuman. Doesn't need any detail, just a basic "What are you?" "Inhuman."
Not sure where that would fit, though. I don't think we currently have any movie heroes that are going to be retconned into Inhumans. Did they say they're still doing Captain Marvel's normal origin story? I heard something about how they're worried it's too close to Green Lantern.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Even without setting up the Inhumans, they could still do Kamala. As noted, being an Inhuman isn't that important to her character. It's mainly just a source for her powers.
Age of Ultron had no problem establishing Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as Hydra experiments.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

Didn't she also repeatedly misgender her, though? That's pretty contemptuous. (And I did have the impression that "Sister Boy" was a derogatory name given to her by others.)
