Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Vision got a solo comic within the last year and it sorta illustrates my point; he had nothing resembling a supporting cast so they had to literally create him a family to work off.
Vision as a solo character is a very recent development in his like 40 plus year history (he'd had mini-series before but that's it. He was mostly an Avenger).
Can you replicate them in MCU form? Probably.

She-Hulk, at least, can't have a movie right now. In inclined to believe that if they could, they would have already (or, admittedly more likely, they would have created a Hulk sequel and introduced her as a sidekick a la Falcon or Rhodey).
I still think they should make a She-Hulk tv series.

Since they are using Hulk in Thor Ragnarok, they could still use She-Hulk in a non-Hulk related movie. I mean...I don't know what movie, but they could.
Alternatively, she could show up in The Defenders show. Because she's a defender. A public defender.
So I was thinking about, parallels, or closed cycles, whatever you want to call it. I noticed some things:
1) We see Steve Rogers deliberately drop his shield twice in the MCU, and both times involved Bucky; in Winter Soldier he dropped it to show his refusal to fight Bucky, and in Civil War he dropped it to show he was done with being Captain America and everything it entailed; Bucky was more important.
2) It's been confirmed that Steve is no longer Captain America. That means, leaving out the USO nonsense, the first and last thing he did as Cap was saving Bucky Barnes.
3) Considering where they were in the end, it could be said that Captain America "died" in the same place the Winter Soldier was "born". That has to be symbolic of something; I just haven't quite worked out what it is yet.
Just some nighttime ramblings for you.

The captain America trilogy is full of parallels like this. For example steve uses the line "I can do this all day" in the very first and the very last fight we see him in. Also, in The Winter Soldier Bucky jumps after Steve in order to pull him out of the Water, but in Civil War, Steve jumps after Bucky in order to pull him out.
Regarding new movies, if they ever make a Hulk sequel, I can totally see them introducing both She-Hulk and Amadeus Cho, and then make solo movies of them both (hopefully Cho and Hercules).
I would also like a Hawkeye movie where they introduce Kate Bishop as his succesor.
But honestly, Marvel has only obscure properties to use from now on, which can be both good and bad.
I'd be interested in a MCU Hercules movie.
In other news, our character pages are currently saying that War Machine & Ant-Man will be in Homecoming. Has that been confirmed?
Peace is the only battle worth waging.
Ant-Man was listed as a cameo, but War Machine wasn't. I've fixed it.
I'd prefer a Hercules series, to be honest. Just Herc dickin' around the nine realms, getting' drunk and goin' on adventures. Fucking women. Fucking dudes.
My various fanfics.
