Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Hey, Happy Hogan is returning to the MCU with Spider-Man: Homecoming
! I mean, we already knew Tony Stark was going to appear, but this is neat, too.
It's just one of those things that happens when a dude who is a bit taller than average stands next to a guy a bit shorter than average (I speak with considerable experience of the latter.) I reckon there'd be a fair few similar pictures of Hemsworth alongside RDJ behind the scenes of the Avengers movies.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."The Kamen Rider thread (of which I myself am a regular) was saying the same thing around the time the movie came out, so we're pretty ahead of you guys on that front.
Funny. I remember a joke fan edit that portrayed and compared Ant Man to Kamen Rider, but I didn't know there was a full on commercial in Japan comparing the two.
One Strip! One Strip!5 Marvel Cinematic Sub-Universes ComicBook.com wants after The Defenders
Oddly enough, the X-Men are in the list. Really, no one else thinks something's up when one of the filmmakers for Doctor Strange mentioned "Marvel Cinematic Multiverse" plus we've been getting radio silence regarding almost every new X-Men related stuff?
The guy who was suppose to direct the Gambit movie left to be at the DCEU and we haven't heard squat about that last Wolverine movie that's supposed to come next year or so. All we've gotten is some new show called Legion and more radio silence regarding the New Mutants movie.

What? Are you guys thinking that Xmen Apocalypse did the same to the Film/Xmen franchise that The Amazing Spider Man did to Spiderman?
I mean, Whatever flaws it had, Apocalypse wasn't even half as bad as Amazing 2.

Last week when they announced a writer for New Mutants and then a little before that when the writers of Deadpool were discussing the sequel's premise? And then prior to that Fox ordering another X-Men show.
It underperformed, but the franchise had the fortune of the More Popular Spin-Off that proved to be a smash hit. Unlike the Amazing Spider-Man situation where the planned Spidey Cinematic Universe stalled right out of the gate.

Is Hemsworth that tall or is the director (at least, that's who I'm assuming he is) that short?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
