Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

x5 Ah, okay. I forgot, been a while. Second-guessing myself.
I'm glad for people like Team Steve who are willing to take those chances, but things could have turned out very differently if Steve's gut had been wrong. I like that the movie is willing to show the consequences— like them all being fugitives, for one— and that Steve is the kind of guy who's willing to accept them. Mostly I'm just glad for a version of Civil War where I can come away from it still feeling like the characters on both sides are still heroes.

Nothing except T'Challa throwing a tantrum and calling for the man's head. Does that mean they should hand him over? No, but it means they're probably going to.
I'm not agreeing with it, but I assume that's the basic idea in the script. And T'Challa does eventually realize it's wrong, whatever the more pragmatic diplomats have cooked up in the meantime.

Steve was ready to accept that Bucky might be the killer, he was simply not ready to decide that he is guilty no matter what, because even if he had been responsible for the bombing, it might have been happened under brain-washing. And if Bucky had been guilty, well, either Cap had travelled to Wakanda in order to defend him, or Bucky would have gotten killed by the Black Panther which would have most likely broken Cap.
Right, but that's the unfortunate disconnect between the idealized version of America that Steve represents and the Realpolitik world of spies and diplomats he inhabits in these movies. To Be Lawful or Good is very much at the heart of these stories, along with the question of whether or not we— not just Steve, but ourselves as a civilization, as a *planet*— can turn back the clock and believe in fair play and doing the right thing regardless of expedience. The movies don't provide an answer, but the way they ask the question is enough, I think.
Considering that I am still waiting for damage control, I'll wait for Marvel to make an official announcement before getting excited about anything and even then I want at least a confirmation that a pilot is in the making before I believe that it is actually happening.
Also, Squirrel Girl on a TV budget? with all the CGI they would need for her alone?

Just to demonstrate how easily you can mislead people about the content of a movie or a show....
Have to disagree concerning Damage Control. In the wake of Civil War, which is mostly about collateral damage, it would have been the perfect moment to explore the topic in a half joking half serious manner. Also, Shield is still out there, having the damager control team cleaning up messes after operations/events we don't get to see in the show itself would make the organization feel much bigger than it currently seems to be.
When it comes to being metal as fuck no heroine can match Gullotine
, she who wields A SENTIENT BLOODTHIRSTY DEMON SWORD called THE FLOWER OF EVIL, originally wielded under this oath: "For I am the executioner now. I am punishment without mercy. I am the machine that kills... I AM THE GUILLOTINE!"
It's fucking metal as fuck, dude

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Well, the Netflix schedule is full, plus, Netflix is pretty much the "defenders worlds". ABC is kind of the "spy world", though I guess the main reason why they don't take in more shows is because ABC standards are very high so the Marvel shows kind of don't pull enough viewers (sadly, both shows deserved better). As far as I know Hulu is owned partly by ABC which is in turn owned by Disney, and Hulu really could use some shows which draw attention. Having Marvel shows would be a good draw, and for Disney it is a win/win situation.

Because he killed the king of Wakanda, and T'Challa requested prosecution rights. Killing the King of Wakanda in a bombing in Vienna means both Austria and Wakanda have legal claim to him. This makes Bucky accused of a transnational crime, which means it's between Austria and Wakanda (plus anyone else who has a stake in it) as to who gets to prosecute Bucky first.
Wakanda won first dibs.
