Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah I'd prefer a Daughters of the Dragon show to a straight up Misty Knight one as well. Not that I have anything against Misty mind you, but the idea of her and Colleen Wing kicking butt together as co-leads sounds more interesting/appealing to me overall. Maybe get Luke, Danny, and Jessica as guest stars at some point and we're good.
Also a show with a Lovely Angels setup for the protagonists rather than solo leads would allow for a neat character dynamic.
Yep, the only downside of this is that it would mean to loose the female lead and the black guy lead how at once, so replacing them then with a Misty Knight show, or another team-up show with Misty Knight as the lead might be a really good idea instead of adding another white guy to the roster (not that Moon Knight HAS to be white).
I wouldn't want Jessica Jones to be folded up into a show with two guys, since that is guaranteed to mean we lose her as the main viewpoint. Same is likely true for Luke Cage. I'm hesitant to watch Iron Fist as it is, I don't want Ser Loras become the white guy lead for Jessica and Luke. And I don't think just exchanging them for Misty and Colleen is a the right way to go here. I like Jessica and Luke, and if Luke Cage is a good series, he should continue being the lead. You can't just swap one minority for the other and call it a day. Fold Punisher back into Daredevil, and have Iron Fist pop up on Luke Cage now and then. That would mean room for a Misty Knight series, or one with Misty Knight and Whippy Spice Girl.

I'd rather lose the relationship than lose the tone and feel of Jessica Jones as a series. And I have hopes it might be similar for Luke Cage.
Another thing that I find very important for Jessica which I fear might be lost in a crossover series is her relationships with Trish and other women, like Hogarth and Hope. Most superhero fiction we have on screen these days doesn't feature meaningful relationships between women or even many interactions between them. In a show that has Jessica as co-lead with two men, I see these relationships becoming the focus, and I think that would be a huge waste. Even though I love her relationship with Luke, and hope they can repair it (just want to stress that them as a couple is really not my issue with this.)
The spinoff I mainly want from the Netflix shows is actually one about Claire Temple. You could combine hospital shows (always popular) with street level superheroes, and have everyday heroes like Claire on top of it. And of course you could have cameos from all the other Netflix leads.

I've seen him in the excellent indie film Short Term 12, (which, ironically, starred Brie Larson!). He was also a character in Until Dawn. Those are the main things I know him from, but he's reasonably popular these days.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."

A Misty Knight series would be totally awesome! I really want this to happen.
When we're done, there won't be anything left.
