Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So far we only know four people in the cast, so it doesn't rule him out. In fact it may make him more likely since Klaw is Killmonger's "adoptive" dad.

The answers to those questions took me to a far deeper place that I expected. I don’t want to give away too many answers at this time. But what Nova Prime said about Peter’s father at the end of Vol. 1 is certainly true – he is something ancient and unknown. And, as we will discover, being a cosmic being, alone for eons, is perhaps even more lonely than being the universe’s sole talking raccoon.
I can’t wait for you guys to see Kurt Russell bring this character to life onscreen. It has been a rapturous experience creating Ego with him. We have both pushed ourselves as far as we can go in making him real, and grounded, and emotionally centered.
He also confirms Sylvester Stallone is indeed in the movie.

Everett Ross also plays a pretty big role in one of Killmonger's arcs, so this might make it likelier for Martin Freeman to be in Black Panther as well. Which makes sense, since there seems no other reason to make the character Everett Ross to begin with.

Awww, Kurt Russell hasn't aged that badly...

I bet every time someone made a prediction that his dad would be, like, Adam Warlock or Starhawk, James Gunn laughed to himself and said, "You'll never guess. Nobody guesses the Living Planet. Mwahahahaha!"
...or maybe not.
As long as he still gets his pants from the Devil.

Totally wasn't expecting Tony Revolori to be Flash Thompson of all people. Nor someone named Laura Harrier being Liz Allan.
Also, props to Michael Keaton being The Vulture. I remember reading debates on whether he was going to be Vulture, Mysterio, or even Norman Osborn.
And it's gonna be pretty interesting to explain how a Living Planet named Ego came to be capable of fathering a human like Peter Quill.

Same way Loki managed to become the mother of an eight-legged horse.
Rhodey? As for characters not yet around, people have been suggesting Ms. Marvel.

Not sure how I feel about this pick for Flash. He doesn't look like he has the arrogant jock appearance Flash needs.

Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau wouldn't be bad choices. Maybe Rhodey if they want to tie her into the wider MCU and potentially reference their relationship in the comics.

Because unless they're going to have her get her powers in the film and they have Ms. Marvel planned as one of their first Phase 4 movies, they'd have a small window to actually work in where Kamala would actually be a teenager.
Just like how Cassie Lang was a little kids and not a teen already.

Well I'm working under the assumption that The Stinger would involve her getting her powers but Inhumans being delayed has made that somewhat unlikely.
I can vouch for that. I was a bully in high school and my look was one part emo goth and one part intellectual snob.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.In general, people who become popular tend to do so because they're really likable and get along well with others. Mean-spirited dickbags who go out of their way to remind everyone how superior they are to the crowd get snubbed.
Characters like Flash Thompson and movies like Revenge of the Nerds have created this idea in the social consciousness that popular kids are all evil, abusive assholes and those shunned by society are all virtuous saints oppressed by a wicked culture, but it's the furthest thing from truth.

Ned was one of the suspects in the Hobgoblin mystery, which I've been wanting to see on a screen for a while now.
