Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well, I'll say this much.
If they can't avenge the city....they'll damn sure defend it!
So every Netflix series thus far has used a car door in an improper way; Kingpin smooshed Anatoly's head in one, Jessica ripped one off to use as a shield, and now Luke Cage uses one to cocoon some hapless goon. No car door in the Iron Fist trailer but who knows what the series proper will hold.
The villain of the Defenders will be an evil car door here to avenge its fallen comrades and destroy humanity.
Lotta trailers.
Hoping for something something Doctor Strange.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectOne thing after another...I guess some Agents of Shield stuff is next, and then we'll get to the movies.
Now, I expect a new Doctor Strange Trailer, a first teased for Got G Vol 2 and an announcement concerning the Captain Marvel casting and director.
My favorite part of the trailer is that Luke's hoodie had bullet holes in it after cocooning the guy with the car door. It didn't actually stop the bullets fired at him.
Hollywood doesn't have a good relationship with ballistic physics, so seeing some acknowledgement that yes, bullets can penetrate things like car doors is appreciated.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.It goes a bit deeper than that. Bulletproof Human Shield is a thing after all.
Yeah, I love that detail, too. Just because Luke Cage's skin is bulletproof, it doesn't mean that his skin is. And the Metal should be a little bit useful because, well, just because a bullet can't penetrate the skin it doesn't mean that a big impact can't cause damage beneath it, as we saw in Jessica Jones. So an additional layer of protection to slow the bullets down a little bit might not be a bad idea.
I wonder if Luke learned that because of what happened in Jessica Jones, or if he learned that before hand.
If it's the latter, it's a nice Continuity Nod. He's gained a slightly better idea of his limits, so now he takes appropriate precautions.
One Strip! One Strip!First Jessica Jones action figure
shown at Comic Con. And Punisher too.
And its name is Ghost Rider. More specifically, Robbie Reyes.

NASA's Mission Patch for the new phases of launches to the National Laboratory in the International Space Station may be slightly familiar to fans of Guardians of the Galaxy,
Groot and Rocket Raccoon are going to space.
