Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The mother of the dead boy in Civil War is also playing the Big Bad in Luke Cage.
Someone claimed before I went to bed that the Airport is part of the Avengers Compound. No, it isn't. It is not the airport in Berlin either, btw. It is the Airport Leipzig/Halle, a very small Airport (with small I mean that there are train stations bigger than this thing) in former eastern Germany. It is more or less the ideal location for this scene, because it is just big enough that there are long-distance flights starting from it, but small enough that it is believable that you can evacuate the premise in minutes.
I think the claim was that Scott robbed a UN property when he robbed the Avengers compound in Ant Man, thing is its wasn't a UN property at the time, it was Tony Stark's private property.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI kind of just figure everyone's getting pardoned after Infinity War.
No, I was asserting that the airport was U.N. property. If it's not, then I stand corrected.
The Quinjet still is, though. I was assuming the airport was connected to the compound because they're keeping a Quinjet there. It seems awkward to keep a military jet in a civilian airport. But Swanpride knows Germany better than I do, so I'll defer to his/her judgment on that.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Really, for all the naysaying that a Black Widow movie would be Overshadowed by Awesome, having one feels like only the most logical followup to the aftermath of Civil War from a storytelling perspective.
It's kind of crazy how Civil War has gotten me less hyped for Doctor Strange. I'm still sure it'll be good, and I'm looking forward to seeing it, but damn if I wouldn't rather see anything that could potentially continue what Civil War started: Black Widow, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron Man 4, a New Avengers/Secret Avengers movie, take your pick.
That's how I felt when Ant-Man was happening between Age of Ultron and Civil War.

It just doesn't have the hype train going as hard for it because Civil War is a Tough Act to Follow that left many people desperately craving the next installment that continues its story.
Civil War got everyone hyped for Black Panther rather than Doc Strange. It won't hurt Strange's turnout or quality overmuch, but it does mean some people are going to be wrestling with an anticipation that will not be quenched in the next MCU film.

Wait is this the first time an actor who played a named character is doing a second role in the MCU? I know there's the lady who played a random woman in TFA and Star-Lord's mom, and the guy who was an NY cop who then went on to be Sousa.
