Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

But what about the platypus?!
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Dr. Strange is all about spectacular mystical stuff spilling out into the mortal plane - since that's what he's specifically trying of avoid, it's often a way to raise the stakes.
Wormholes and rifts opening over the streets, innocents getting pulled into the spirit realm, cthuloid gods manifesting in the middle of New York.... Dr. Strange's adventures get big, they're just almost entirely separate from Avengers' adventures.
Funnily enough, the first thing I thought of as a climax to a Dr. Strange film is the climax of Dark World, except with banishment spells and weird hand gestures instead of portal sticks.
I have a velociraptor themed super genius in my superhero setting.
She's called Clever Girl and she's fossil accurate.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBlame Jurassic Park. Pop culture has yet to discover the awesomeness that is awesome
scientifically
accurate
raptors.
The Exposition Dragon's got you covered.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Already felt like a given, but Michael B. Jordan has confirmed his casting in Black Panther.
Another Homecoming cast addition
. And a former Howling Commando at that!

I'd note that at least one person has been arrested under the accords despite only committing the crime of vigilantism. Black Panther gets throw in the car with the rest of them at the start, and he never assaulted any police and was never associated with the Avengers, so it's entirely possible that if Strange gets involved in a big situation he could end up in jail.
Which just means his situation won't be visibly big.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranNo he just chased down a wanted fugitive in the middle of a busy freeway, which also involved a confrontation with noted Avenger Captain America which also resulted in multiple car crashes and property damage. And he did it, for a personal vendetta.
So yeah, he's getting arrested. Also T'Challa DID sign up for/support the Accords, so that makes him fair game as well.

Would the Accords even apply to him? I don't think anyone knew he was the Black Panther until he got arrested. And since they made a point of saying Wakanda was mostly isolationist before that, I'm no sure how many people would know what the Black Panther is to begin with.

I figure there's a law saying that all animals have to have comic characters based off them. Once creators ran out of cool ones like bats, spiders, hawks, panthers, falcons and rhinos, they had to improvise.
