Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I liked 2008 Hulk. I think I like Woobie protags.
Yes, it could have been better, but it wasn't by any means godawful.
Also, someone really needs to call Roth out on making the Hulk. You can't be a major part of demanding accords meant to limit heroes' power when you're indirectly responsible for creating the hero that causes the most infrastructure damage.

Oissu!Bad, but not half as bad as SPIDER-MAN. THREAT OR MENACE?!
- Ross: I've literally spent my entire career trying to rein him in. What have you done lately?

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.![]()
Pardon me. I was distracted.
But yeah, Incredible Hulk made it pretty clear he was just pretending he had the public's safety in mind, really he just wanted Banner's blood to power more super soldier research. And yeah, Ross didn't tell him what the serum was for, Banner thought he was making a cure-all-diseases serum.

Oissu!Yes. That's the magic of PR; reality is flexible. Something as simple as choice of phrasing can mean the difference between whether
- Captain America compromised national security by leaking confidential secrets to America's enemies.
- Captain America blew the whistle on a terrorist organization buried in the heart of homeland security.
Probably slightly better than getting stabbed in the back by your handler because he's HYDRA, though.
Re: Bruce faceplanting in Nat's boobs, that happened during the party aftermath/Ultron's attack in Age of Ultron. It's like something out of a 1970s movie. Very slapstick.

Uh, yeah, dude, they're actually in a relationship now. They've been dating since the second half of Season 3.
@windleopard: Bruce planting his face in Nat's boobs happens during the party in Age of Ultron. It happens when Ultron attacks and Bruce and Natasha duck behind the bar to prevent being attacked by the Iron Drones, and Bruce's face just happens to land on Natasha's boobs, but yeah. It's terrible.

We saw a bit of that in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the reaction of people who were actually currently undercover at the moment of the leak, but good chunks of it were still encrypted, so hopefully that gave undercover agents time to get away without arousing suspicion. Mostly, the show focused on the organization itself. The general reaction was "Well, shit, this sucks. I guess it had to be done, but damn, what do we do now?"
No one blamed Cap for leaking anything. Everyone was much more focused on their friends and coworkers suddenly shouting "Hail HYDRA!" and shooting at them.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. So if they are taking parts of Planet Hulk for Ragnarok, do you think we'll see Smart Hulk in this?
I mean, him being able to converse normally has become an important part of his character, and has been a phase of his life in most forms of media and the comics.
At this point, only the movies have avoided it so far.
Plus Hulk speaking proper sentences during at some climatic moment would be a huge Wham Line.
One Strip! One Strip!Speaking of Ross and his Hulk...issues, I thought of something the other day. He spent years chasing Hulk/Banner. He declared Banner's human rights nonexistent and had him tortured under the guise of 'research' for the purpose of of not just containing the Hulk, but replicating, controlling, and utilizing him in battle. And failed at every step. I can't help but think that watching the Avengers use Hulk in battle with minimal issues and even getting him to change back pretty much on command must've caused a big ugly pit of anger and resentment in him.
To say nothing of his likely problems with the Avengers themselves. Leaving out any questions of legality or accountability, he probably viewed them as a gang of costumed thugs; more freaks he couldn't do anything about. He was probably overjoyed at the chance to get them under his thumb via the Sokovia Accords.

Oh sure, you list all the relationships except the only one that matters: Fitz Simmons.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
