Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

actually I think that was Smite
Also, God and Allah are just two different names for the same deity, so that doesn't really make any sense anyway.

So like Apocalypse?
Cap, Bucky, and Falcon really want the X-Men to be next to show up in the MCU.
Ok, you can argue that that's a pipe-dream at best, but really, really, think about it.
- Evidently, not everyone's liking X-Men: Apocalypse (which I wasn't expecting, I thought everyone would be loving it like it was the next DOFP). Some are even saying that it's kinda got the same issues Batman v Superman had with being "too dark" or something. And internationally speaking, it's apparently not doing so hot...
- Infinity War is still a ways from coming. A lot can happen between now and when the Infinity War movies come up.
- And bear in mind, the Infinity Gauntlet, to the best of my knowledge, can screw with the very fabric of time and space and reality itself. What if Infinty War, Part 2 has Thanos screwing the MCU so much, that the Avengers will have to mesh with another universe to save it? Like a certain universe that didn't have any Avengers in the first place and had these living beings called "Mutants"?
Sure, it could be a headache to establish that mutants have been around since the 60's or earlier, but what if they establish mutants as a recent discovery, like with the Inhumans?
Food for thought.

Looked it up and it was Krishna
in the newest SMT.
Anyway Apocalypse is still doing well enough (and decent enough) that I don't think we're going to see a rights reversion any time soon. We might get an intermittent Intercontinuity Crossover from time to time though.

Checking Cinemascore
, Apocalypse got a solid A- from the movie-going audience (For comparison against recent superhero movies, Deadpool and Civil War both got As, while Bv S got a B). With Audience interest still there, I doubt Fox will be letting go of the X-Men anytime soon (especially since they've already got their own Superhero universe in place and Deadpool had just shown them the viability of solo movies not starring Wolverine)

The current continuity of X-Men clashes badly with MCU (what with Wanda and Peter/Pietro) so X-Men needs a reboot to fit in.
And the MCU has enough work juggling the Avengers already, another team with a shit ton of characters may be too much.
Non Indicative Username6
Shiva, Vishnu, and Braham are all male Daevas related by blood who reside in the pocket dimension known as Nirvana, which can be entered by anyone else capable of freeing their lust, anger, and suffering. Daevas are called by different nsmes; for example Braham is Berahma in Malya, while in Thai he is Phra Phrom. Unlike almost every other pantheon, humans still worship them.
Nirvana is adjacent to Earth. Someone built it on the small planetary object located on Mount Keri.
The detIls here are not historically accurate because of creative choice.
Marvel once owned Conan, so Hyborian gods existed. There are other gods worshiped on Earth by Psyklop's people called dark gods. They aren't based on real world mythology, being Lovecraftian in nature. God's for the 80s are also made up. They reflect iconic trends that went on during the 80s, such as arcades. Astros is God of the Arcade and swit justice. You have to give him a coin.

Being better than the last stand is so easy that I honestly don't think it counts.
One Strip! One Strip!Nothing can match Origins bad. I'd take X-Men Apocalypse over it any day.
I mean, to compare: The Last Stand has some good in it (Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Vinnie Jones as the Juggernaut, the scenes with Angel and his dad, some of the action was actually good), but the stupid stuff is too much and outweighs it. Apocalypse has a 50-50 ratio of good and bad that makes it average out.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I doubt the X-Men rights will revert. I haven't seen Apocalypse, so I can't speak for its quality (I think I'll wait for the DVD), but it hardly seems to be the utter bomb that Fant4stic was.

Oh God! Natural light! Not even X-Men Origins could be as bad as Fant 4 Stic. At least Origins had Liev Schrieber going for it.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Wow you can really buy that Vision sweater.http://www.tor.com/2016/06/03/vision-sweater-sale-at-macys/
At this point, the X-Men franchise is so entrenched that it would take a series of bad films to put the rights at risk. Granted, XMA seems to have knocked whatever strong wind it had going for it following DOFP, but it'd still take at least 2 more bombs before we can really come back to this.
Now, whether or not Deadpool counts in that streak is another matter entirely, because while it's technically part of the franchise it's so separated as to practically be its own thing.
